I ordered the half chicken with rice and potatoes and 2 of the pastels. The chicken was really flavorful and was very tender. I was able to eat it with very little effort from my fork and knife. The price is great for what you get! The pastels were great and were very comparable to the ones I’ve had in Lisbon. Overall this is an amazing spot that you shouldn’t miss in the market!
I got the Portuguese tart and coconut tart. I had already purchased my tart from Paddington but since this is branded as "Portuguese cuisine," I wanted to come the tarts since MOST OF THE BAKERIES AT ST.LAWRENCE ARE SELLING THESE TARTS. Well, I enjoyed the tart from Paddington more. They were both good but the custard in that was not as smooth and spiced and Paddington. The coconut tart is very moist and has a balanced sweetness. Beyond the fact that the food is pretty darn good, I called this place just about 15 minutes after they closed, someone picked up my call and I explained my spouse was craving Portuguese chicken. He prepared a meal and waited another 20 minutes for us to pick it up. Incredible, old school service!
