We were excited to dine at Cibo, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a really poor experience. My boyfriend and I love Italian food, but this was far from what an authentic Italian experience should feel like. We did enjoy the ambiance — classic and romantic with low lighting, exposed brick, and a beautiful wine display. That was the highlight. However, the service was disappointing from the start. We never got our server's name, there was no welcome or explanation of what “Cibo Italian Wine Bar” is all about — not even a basic intro. Within the first 10 minutes, we were asked for our drink order, and two minutes later, rushed into ordering food. At that point, we had no clue what the standout dishes were or what the server would recommend. When we asked questions (as pescatarians), it was clear the server didn't know much about the menu. There was also no inquiry about dietary restrictions or allergies, which is a huge miss in the service industry. We ordered four dishes — two pastas, an appetizer, and bread. The only one with any real flavor was the octopus salad. The pastas were bland, and by then, we were just over it. No quality check, plates were stacked awkwardly, and even the drinks were underwhelming. For a place with $20+ entrees and wine priced from $30 to $250, I expect much more. Where is the standard of service and hospitality? To top it off, our 7:00 PM reservation wrapped up by 7:46. It felt like a turn-and-burn operation rather than a relaxed, thoughtful dining experience. Please reconsider before booking a table here. This place could be so much more — but until standards are raised, it's just not worth it. Disappointing.
There was only one waitress working multiple tables and Did not check on my party regularly. The table beside us had waited 35 minutes to get their bill and it was hard to get the waitresses attention.
We had a fabulous waitress by the name of Vanessa. She was friendly and sweet and just an absolute pleasure. We started with a charcuterie board and had the pizza with Gorgonzola cheese, pears, walnuts and honey. I've never tasted anything so fabulous. And the wine selection, WOW!Great price point as well. Will return again and again, even if I have to drive 7 hours to get here!!
Always a great time, from host to service, warm focaccia to start, baked eggplant and risotto and awesome chocolate gelato, fine food and good times, met other friends to enjoy a few drinks, they make a fantastic Old Fashioned
I've been to the location in Yorkville several times but this was my first time at the King West location. I had the sundried tomato risotto and my boyfriend had the pizza with spicy salami and black olives. Both were very delicious. We were served our meals so quickly as well. It was pretty quiet the night we were there but the weather was awful and it wasn't very busy. I imagine it gets noisier on weekends. We also had the tiramisu. It was good but not the best I've had.
Great food and amazing service :)

Ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with vegetables - I’ve had it before and it’s been delicious. This time however the smell and taste were very off putting - had to toss my meal. The portion size was also smaller than before. Unsure what’s happened to the quality, as I used to really enjoy this dish as my go-to.
Would highly recommend the chocolate baci bombe for dessert.

$18 for Campbell's soup is basically what happened. Celebrated a friend's birthday and after being sick just wanted a bowl of soup and boy do I regret it. The soup was the smallest thing ever and deffinetely not home made.
My go-to at all times. You can never go wrong with Cibo KING WEST.
(I did not have the same experience at the other locations.)

If you are Italian then this is not the place for you. It is a convenient spot on King west for a meal with friends or coworkers but the food is pretty disappointing. Seafood linguine was overly salted and sauce was not good unfortunately.
