If you are bar hopping on ossington this spot is a must do. Very reasonably priced drinks and a good atmosphere.

This is those kinds of places that you can walk by hundreds of time and miss it.Not having a clue of this hidden Gen.We only noticed because the street was quite enough so we could listen to the music coming from inside.few tables and seats are the bar.Super friendly staff. Decoration is that vintage looking where you will sit listen to this person with a incredible voice and have a feeling you had just travelled back in time, and every place you look there is a decoration or something to grab your attention.Went with a group of 4 and we loved it. Definitely going back.

Great bar with great atmosphere and such a good music. I just took a beer and the service was super nice to everyone and made sure everyone is in good hands. Even when all the chairs were occupied people were just standing snd having a good time. They even have an old vintage jukebox where you can pick the songs that will be played there!

We had been wanting to go to this place for a long time, did not let us down when we went. It was packed (house full) when we went but the bar keep was so great, amazing service. Beautiful looking place, the perfect local. And they had a singer songwriter evening when we were there. Caught a duo called 'Clamaglamza' who are probably one of the most original and unique acts around. I would go back here every chance I get.P.s. the board outside does not say 'Communist's Daughter'.

Cozy, jazzy, groovy & joyful atmosphere! Saturday afternoon place to be.

Great place to drop into on a Tuesday. Atmosphere and decor is lovely and the bartender was very welcoming and personable. I’ve been wanting to visit for a while and it certainly met my expectations :)

By far my favorite place to visit in Toronto. The Saturday afternoon concert is a one of a kind experience.

Great vibe. Really small though and usually packed. Seating is first come first served. Really fun voting game with the whole bar on Mondays with the music/vinyls they play.

Great little haunt for cocktails and beers. Monday nights the the vinyl is sourced from the crowd and everyone votes on whether to listen to side B or move on. Stopped in spontaneously and was so glad we did - such a fun vibe.

Great atmosphere, great people. Strongly recommend befriending a man named Caleb if you're there.

Very chill place. Small, busy and was cosy! There wasn't any wifi available. The prices seemed decent. No-one seemed to know our friend Dorothy, who we had heard used to go to this bar.

Terrible and abusive experience. My friends and I tried getting a table. My friend put down his coat at a table that was empty. The bartender said that it was being occupied and he mentioned that there was a coat, which was my friend's at the table. So my friend asked who were the people at the table. Then the bartender lost his mind started saying that he shouldn't have asked such questions. He got right up into his face and kept asking him why he would ask such a question. When I told him that we're leaving, he kept insisting and repeating the same thing. He was clearly under the influence or he has some mental health issues that caused him not to be in his right mind. This is highly unprofessional and abusive behavior. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anybody who has any sense of moral responsibility and would highly recommend avoiding this establishment at all cost. This bartender was the worst individual I have ever met in such an establishment.

The Communist Daughter is my favourite bar in Toronto, and a place I always make a specific trip to whenever I’m in town. The Communists Daughter is a quirky, intimate bar that, despite its tiny size, also periodically has live music. This is a great date spot and an awesome and eclectic place to meet new people.Heads up, this place is super small and gets filled up pretty quick on a Friday/weekend, but in fairness that is part of its charm.

A great bar with lovely people working there. I went back to visit TO (home) this summer and spent some very nice evenings there. Having worked the bar scene in TO for decades, it was wonderful to see a place with character and warmth and without that pretentious element that seems to be enveloping the city. For me, it's the best bar in TO.

Cozy bar with a super personable bartender. The negroni he made me was the best one I have ever had. Do not skip out of trying this place just based on the way it looks, I think that’s part of its charm!
