Honestly 10/10. No notes. Everything was delicious. Helen was a great server for our evening. Will return.
One of the best restaurants I have been to in some time. Was blown away by almost every dish. Will be coming back. Will be recommending to friends!
The appetizers were excellent; the tuna and shrimp ceviche was fresh and well balanced, and the corn elote ribs were truly one of a kind. The mac and cheese was rich and soulful, but the cornbread really stole the show: incredibly moist, full of flavor, and perfectly complemented by the butter provided. The main dishes were above average overall. The jerk chicken was nicely presented and thoughtfully put together, though the chicken itself could have been more flavorful. The curry lamb, on the other hand, was very succulent and appetizing; however, the roti served with it was disappointing and fell short of expectations. Overall, a great experience with standout appetizers and sides, with some room for improvement on a few main elements.
The apps were good. Service was slow and parts of the meals were lukewarm/cold when they were eventually served.
Delicious and exciting food choices - we shared lots of small plates and large plates between a group of 6. The cornbread and firecracker shrimp are standouts - as is the fried chicken, braised beef and macaroni cheese. We love it here!
We had an amazing time Chill on the starters though, you won't be able to have mains after if you eat it all like we did, on the flip side we got 5 starters so that's on us 😂
Incredible hospitality and service. Food was delicious. So glad we chose to celebrate my husbands birthday here
Amazing spot! So glad I finally 'discovered' it :) Creative good, attentive but not overbearing service and fabulous cocktails. We'll be back!
Everything, from drinks to dessert, was fabulous! Delicious and inventive, plus an overall great vibe
Food was outstanding! The cornbread definitely is one you want to get two orders of (each). We also had the curry, fried chicken, and macaroni...which were all worth having again. Very flavorful and shout out to Daniel for being an accommodating host/server

My second experience at conego negro was disappointing. While the host was gracious to move us from the hallway entrance to a more comfortable seat. But the noise level was deafening and disruptive. If you have sensitive hearing, do not go there. Our server was indifferent and unhelpful. While our cocktails and appetizers were good, our main meals were over salted, watery and disappointing. We ordered the lamb curry which has a soup consistency and the roti was soggy from sitting in the soup. And the jerk chicken with pumpkin rice was over salted. We left upon receiving our meals with great disappointment.
We had such a lovely time at Conejo Negro! The food was amazing and the service was great. Everything was super flavorful and beautifully presented. The mezcalita de maracuyá was absolutely incredible. Our only small note was the menu wording around the “large plates.” They felt more in line with individual main courses rather than shareable plates, so renaming that section could help set clearer expectations when ordering. That said, the food was excellent overall and we'd happily come back.
The overall ambience of the restaurant is nice. We ordered a number of dishes including : - tacos - ceviche - Mac and cheese - jerk chicken - cornbread The food was underwhelming. The Mac and cheese was flavourless and the quantity of rice and peas that came with the jerk chicken was not proportional to the chicken that was served. However, the tacos and the ceviche were good and the highlights of our meal.
I was really excited to try this place but the food was underwhelming. The macaroni pie was good. The corn bread was a little too eggy for my liking had to send it back as well as the chicken wings it was an acquired taste in my opinion. The service was good and food came out rather quickly.
Amazing food. However, we reserves weeks in advance for a special birthday, only to be seated at what felt like a last-minute table by the window. It was noticeably cold and uncomfortable. When we politely asked if another table was available, we were met with a bit of attitude from the staff rather than any effort to accommodate us. To make matters worse, the bill was presented with a mandatory minimum 18% tip, which felt inappropriate given the experience. Very disappointing for what was meant to be a special occasion.
