CopaCabana Brazilian Steakhouse - Uptown

DO NOT SPEND NEW YEARS EVE IN THIS RESTAURANT! EVER!

I made the booking in November for 12 people. A deposit of $50 dlls was requested through Open table app per guest for a total of $600 just to reserve the table.

When we arrived to the restaurant it was just like an any regular night. No new years decorations, at all or anything related to new years. There was not enough “champagne” served for all of my guest at count down.

Drinks are limited to about 6 of them.No casa amigos tequila included as they mentioned in their Instagram stories. An only 90 grace period to order alcoholic drinks for the time we started to order them.

Drinks were bought to our table as a batch, by this I meant whoever order caipirinhas from were our table was located only to whom order the caipirinhas was served, it was not arrange by table orders. I understand that it could be done this way to save time to prepare the drinks but I do not think a $177 dlls bill per person should be served.

It took about 40 minutes to get any pop served.

Servers were really nice. I feel bad for them and the lack or organization for this event. At the end of the night they are doing the best they can! Shout out to them!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Full price was charge for each of the guests. A bill of $177 per person with a 18% gratuity was charged . No one told me that the $50 dll deposit was not going to be added to the bill. As the manager said to me, that I had to read the fine print when I asked him to clarify this error.

On January 1 I received a text message that the $600 deposit was refunded to my credit card. Any $600 refund has been made to any of my credit cards coming from Copacabana per todays date that is January 4.

I have had left a voice mai explaining the whole situation. No one has call be back to clarify what’s is going on.

Their voice mail is completely full and no one is picking up the phone.

I had family members coming from Mexico to celebrate New Year’s Eve together and this has been the worse experience we have ever have in New Year’s Eve ever.

By checking your reviews you don’t really care about your rating or the interaction with your customers, but at least have a little respect for people’s money and time.

Caio is amazing! The entire experience was one of the best dinner experience I ever had. Thank you for everything Copacabana.

We went for lunch and had a great time. Espresso Martinis were really good!

Copa Cabana: where the meat is allegedly endless and so is the wait for service.

We came in as a party of 12. First, they seated us at a table in the corner where we were fighting for enough space. They begrudgingly moved us when we complained (to another table identical in size).

My favourite part; With the automatic gratuity already baked into the bill, the servers pretended like they couldn’t see our table. It was amazing. Meats were served sporadically. After they dumped the cheap salads on the table, we had to flag them down multiple times to request specific items on the menu, some of which we only got less than 20 mins before our 2 hour reservation ended.

Water? Only available upon request. Empty glasses and bottles (and plates) just sat on the table. We had to go through the great honour of summoning a server yet again. Really, it’s like we were invisible, the servers only responded after we flagged them down repeatedly, and even then, our requests seemed to enter some sort of Bermuda Triangle of customer service.

My favourite part, the birthday cake. Served with just a sparkler. No plates, cutlery, napkins. A knife to cut the cake? Also optional. And the person who bought the cake was at the washroom, because of course no one bothered to check if the table was ready.

And finally, coat check, or should I say “help yourself“. No staff were anywhere in sight to oversee the area. I walked in, grabbed my coat, and considered grabbing someone else’s just to test the system.

In summary, CopaCabana is the perfect place if you’re looking for bad service, long waits, and a free lesson in lowering your expectations. One star for the sparkler and the unintentional comedy.

The first time I went out for dinner on Christmas Day. I booked our reservation 2 weeks a head of time. We where sat at a table that was make shift, we continuously where bumped into...Many sides that we ordered didn't come. Mashed potatoes and grilled mushrooms came when we where eating our ice cream..My drink came at the end..The staff where rude and condescending...Im thinking they didn't care because the tip is automatic. The sides where bland and tasteless...The bathroom smelled like urine. I saw other black customers treated terrible just like us. For $100 a person this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. The manager was rude and when I explained how displeased I was he did not care..Worst experience!

Not a true all you can eat because you are at the mercy of the service you receive, and our service was terrible. At one point we waited 45 minutes between meats and with a 2 hour dining limit, that is unacceptable. It is obvious they want you to eat as little as possible. Near the end our server came asking if we wanted desert and we told her we havent even been offered shrimp or many of the other meats advertised!

Extreamly disappointed to have to write this poor review but we paid $80 plus tax and mantitorty 18% tip for "all you can eat and drink Mondays" and left feeling hungry and thirsty. The servers know they're getting their tip either way so why even smile right? Our group was very disappointed after hearing how great the Niagara locaton is. Some of our group had been to niagara before, but there was no dancing, no costumes, nothing like that here. Definitely not worth the expensive price tag for the service we received. Our server was MIA, drinks took forever to come out, even just bottled beer. The meats were tasty but nothing to write home about, and we were not offered half of the meats they mention on the website. They would come to one end of our table to shave meat and then just walk away leaving those at the other end with nothing.

The side dishes had to be ordered from your phone which was annoying and the options were limited compared to what we had seen was included on the website. For the amount of money our group of 8 people paid, we left feeling very disappointed in the overall experience. We will not be coming back or recommending this location to friends.

Made reservations for 8pm, waited for over 30 minutes for a table to be cleared. When we finally sat down, took over 15 minutes for a server to come talk to us, and at this point we were already deciding to leave the restaurante...starving. The server nor the manager didn't seem to care at all. They have absolutely nothing to do with an authentic churrascaria. Staff extremely inexperienced in the service business, they all just seemed to not care at all...

Service is terrible! So slow and servers are not friendly because they know they’re getting their 18% automatic tip. Paid for all you can drink and got two margaritas in two hours. Apparently the server told one person at our table that it was last call so I didn’t know. Waited 25 mins for the meat guys to come around. Ordered the vinaigrette salsa about 8 times and got it twice only. A health inspector needs to visit here inconspicuously to witness all the nastiness…Our server with tight curly hair dropped the bread tongs on the floor right in front of us and proceeded to serve the table behind us bread with the same tongs!! We were shocked!! The male server with the man bun/small ponytail cleared a table of their dirty dishes and garbage then on the way to the kitchen he stopped and wiped a table with one of the dirty napkins from the previous table! It was disgusting!! I knew the reviews were bad before I came but it was my son’s 16th birthday and he really wanted to come so I was hoping it was ok. We will never return. Server said she’s “getting the manager” cause she’s “not dealing with this”….son made a joke that we’ll be waiting 35 mins for the manager!! That was 20 mins ago and we’re still waiting.

Food is good but takes a long time to get whatever meat you want. They offer all you can drink for $5 more but they take forever to bring the drinks. Waiting over 30mins for a drink is ridiculous, server Anna says the bar is backed up but she’s been saying that since 6pm. Also that’s not my problem the bar is backed up, if you’re offering all you can drink then it should be coming in a timely manner. She’s rude and condescending. The tongs dropped on the floor for the cornbread and Anna picked them right back up and served another table, disgusting! Definitely won’t be coming back here or recommending it to anyone.

Service is bad , it took 1 hour to bring a beer and it was not busy.
The Dj was good but to loud you cannot have a conversation.
They included 18% of top when the service is horrible .

Please save your money is not worth it at all !

Make sure you check your bill. They illegally charge you 18% for the service by including it in your bill . Based on Bill 81 (in Ontario) , putting any service charge is illegal . The customer has a right to choose how much tip to leave .

Newest fave restaurant 🙂‍↕️ Vibes are great and food is even better. I suggest reserving a table right when they open as they get fully booked after 6-7pm. My favourite meat was def the parm steak although they were all very tasty. Sides were also amazing - highly recommend the gnocchi bolognese, spinach dip, mac n cheese, and roasted pineapple (fan favourite). The $50 for ladies on Thursday is also a steaaal! Would come again for sure 🫶🏼
