Terrible experience. I didn’t want to share this experience and affect their business as we go there all the time and it is our neighborhood breakfast place. We are a regular there. But today, what happened and how the server handled it was absolutely disgusting and terrible customer service. I saw a cockroach at our table and I told the server quietly as I didn’t want to ruin their reputation in front of others. I even told her I don’t want to make a scene in front of other customers. What she said was, I can move you to another table and I said no I can’t eat here anymore… and she just came right back with the machine and bill to get paid. No apology and instead of handling the situation she just proceed to get paid for the food we could not finish eating. We had our plates still full, just ordered fresh coffee. Wanted to enjoy my toast with butter and jam and I also paid extra for fruits that I couldn’t even eat them. My husband didn’t say anything and paid the bill and even added tip but come on …. What kind of customer service is that specially with a regular customer who they know our order by heart, that’s how often we go there. Never going back ever again.

The hygiene was concerning and I would give it 0 star if I could. I ordered takeout today and the service was quite good, probably the best I had in a while. However, my husband had diarrhea right after finishing the food. Note that we didn’t eat anything before this for today. I started to have diarrhea in a few hours too. To make things worse, I’m currently breastfeeding and my three-month-old started to have diarrhea at night. Any parent knows how it feels seeing your new-born suffering. It is heartbreaking. So if you want to open a restaurant, you need to ensure food safety which is the No. 1 thing. If you don’t clean up the kitchen and prepare fresh food, then you shouldn’t open a restaurant. You could easily get a lawsuit or cause food poisoning.

Irene served us a wonderful lunch, accommodated our meal restrictions of vegetarian and vegan options, and provided a sculptured apple birthday 🎂 to end our meal. I came here yesterday excited for breakfast but was very disappointed. Before our food even arrived, I spotted a cockroach by our table. I tried to brush it off, but when I saw a second one, I decided to leave.
When I mentioned this to our server, she reacted as if it was nothing new—completely unfazed and not at all apologetic. Her response was basically, “Okay, sure, leave.” That lack of concern was almost more unsettling than seeing the insects themselves.
