Note: to my understanding this is an extension of Som Tum Jinda, in a nicer space with air conditioning and the same food. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
And that’s a great thing!! It is incredible authentic Thai food in a nicer environment. The food is great, would recommend the papaya salad and pork cheek, the panang curry is sweet and delicious but may be heavy for some.

Loved our meal here. Sat at the back patio. Very helpful staff with great recommendations. We loved everything we got.

Good Thai food and nice decor, has a patio in the back. Enjoyed the pork jowl and Pandang jelly, but the sticky rice was undercooked. Great service!

The choices of food are rather different than other Thai restaurants we went to. The Panang Curry is delicious with lots of chicken in it! Others are as expected but not super remarkable. This is owned by the same owner of Som Tum downstairs next door.

The big red sign with the Michelin star on the door set high expectations from the moment we arrived. However, the experience didn’t quite match up. While I’m not an expert in Thai cuisine, the dishes didn’t give off that Michelin-level impression I was hoping for. The kitchen stove and grill were placed so close to the dining area that the strong smells made us feel like we had to rush out to avoid the lingering scent. The service, on the other hand, was friendly and attentive. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to the hype, and my expectations were unfortunately set too high.

Unfortunately, the service left a bad impression.
As soon as we were seated, the host told us we had only an hour to dine since we didn’t have a reservation. This immediately made us feel unwelcome. After about an hour, she returned and told us we had just five minutes left, despite multiple empty tables. Instead of offering us another table, she simply told us to leave, forcing us to leave behind more than half of my beer.
When we brought up our concerns with the manager, he was kind and listened, but the host interrupted, speaking to him in their language with visible frustration and anger. This felt unprofessional and dismissive, as it excluded us from the conversation.
While we enjoyed the food, the host’s poor service and lack of hospitality ruined the experience.

I had a great experience at Crying Tiger! The food, staff, and decor were all fantastic, and the menu offers so many options to choose from.
The beef pad see ew was absolutely amazing, and I have to say they serve the best mango sticky rice portion in the city.
I also love that they have a dedicated vegan menu, making it accessible for everyone. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

5/5 stars! This family-run restaurant serves authentic Isan Thai cuisine that never disappoints. They've recently expanded their menu to include a selection of alcoholic drinks, enhancing the dining experience. A must-visit for Thai food enthusiasts in Toronto!

Probably the best Thai restaurant in Toronto that won't break the bank. What initially appears to be a a hole-in-the-wall actually reveals itself to be one of the best-kept secrets of the neighborhood. Outstanding, authentic Thai food--some of my favorites include the Tum Salmon, Duck Pla Ra, and Beef Pad Si Ew. The fish sauce is apparently Michelin star-rated--just one taste and it's not hard to see why. Cosy indoors and charming outdoor patio which just opened this summer.

I went to crying tiger but they made seated us in their sister restaurant next door. I find it very unfair because the atmosphere in crying tiger and the sister restaurant are so different. It was so loud, hot, stuffy, so many flies compared to the new place. Service was bad in general and I regret paying what i had to pay for low quality food.

Overpriced, too loud, tiny portions, too many flies, food wasn't good, wouldn't go again.

This place is a sister restaurant to sontum jinda so literally it’s quite exactly the same menu when you order. Both share the same kitchen. Food was amazing (a bit of a miss with the garlic chicken) but pad see ew was phenomenal. I also loved the Thai ice tea in a slushee format?!? Very refreshing and fun.

Amazing food. 2nd location (linked with Som Tum Jinda at 76 Gerrard) and better than the first. More room inside. Patio. Great service. Food is amazing. Fresh. Tasty and north eastern Thai so not your standard Toronto pad Thai type of menu. Worth the visit.
