I purchased a 10 lb box of frozen Dungeness Crab on sale and the quality was absolute garbage. First thing I noticed after opening the box was all the legs and claws had broken off from the bodies. There was even a couple in there that looked black. They looked rotten. The meat in the bodies looked all dried out. $180 in the garbage !!
So I tried some of the non rotted crabs. After boiling the crab the meat had no taste. Usually crab should be sweet and flakey. The meat was bland and non edible. Everything went into the trash.
Not sure how many months, or years the crab had been sitting in the freezer for. Maybe that’s why the crab was on sale. They wanted to get rid of their old stock at the far back end of their freezers.
I would not recommend buying these frozen crabs.
Stick with live crabs.

I got a e-mail from Maria at Daily Seafood. She explained that what I got was a bad box. She offered a full refund of the amount I paid. I got the $180 credit on my credit card. That was nice to see that they stand behind their products.
I will try another order with Daily Seafood. They are very close to me and I like supporting small local business.

Ordered Raspberry Point oysters and they were so good! The ordering and pick-up process was really easy. Will definitely be back!

Avoid avoid avoid.

Placed a large order ($300+) with them and got many dead oysters. 4/12 of one kind, 3/12 of another, 2/48 of another. The ratio of bad oysters is unacceptably high, even more so for a place that claims it specializes in seafood. They were also packed in clear plastic bags, so this issue was easily avoidable. Other items in the order were mostly fine.

I asked for a refund and then got ghosted. Great job saving those ~$15 guys! Surely that will make me order from you again. Don't waste your time here, go to the very well known seafood place in Scarborough instead.

I bought 10 lbs of the Tuna Poke cubes on sale from the Daily Seafood website a month ago. The discount was 25%. I was in the area and they were nice enough to expedite my order for pickup. I got home, only to realize that the product that I was sold had been frozen for almost 2 years and was expiring in 2 months. They should specify this on the product page, similar to how supplement source does. I suggested this to them. I also requested a refund and they had someone come pick it up. I never received the refund and had to follow up again. I wasn't planning to leave a review but they have not updated their product pages for sale items.

I have bought from daily Seafood before and before it was much more fresh but I feel the quality has gone down. Also, when I selected the "as is" for my cod, they literally put my fish on a paper in a box. Very unsanitary... At least throw it in a plastic bag like they have in a grocery store especially when they give everything to u in an open box. Just did not look appetizing and I was quite disappointed since I recommended this place to a family member. Uni was also not very fresh

Look into the people you hire as drivers, wish I got his license plate in time. Drove through a red, cat calling women and making inappropriate comments. And all while smoking a cigarette in a company vehicle? Classless, and highly disturbing! Do better.

Fresh and quality seafood as always! I have been ordering from them for the past ten years, highly recommended! Best customer service to say the least. In my recent online order, I forgot to apply the promotion code, I subsequently sent them an email and they responded promptly and adjusted the price right away. Also, the delivery was scheduled on the day after we had 30cm of snow but it came on time!! Thank you for such a dedication to your customer!!

Extremely fresh fish! Ready to eat the day of delivery. I got the sushi box which was definitely suited for 3-4 people, but my partner and I ate everything in one night cause it was SO TASTY!Best place for at home sushi nights!

Overall quite okay quality and value. Just avoid buying tuna belly because you will get a piece with plenty of sinew which means it is a cut closer to the tail, barely edible.

Daily Seafood was recommended to me by a chef at Pearl Diver a month into the pandemic in early April 2020. He was worried that Daily, and its suppliers might not survive the first lockdown. Its clients were restaurants.I started to buy from Daily while they were still wholesalers. I am glad I did. The seafood was fabulous and it had huge variety.Over the next 18 months I watched as Daily Seafood expanded into the retail market - I hope successfully. Their online retail market is fabulous and they keep expanding their product line. They will cut, filet, marinate and vacuum pack to order. We order regularly.I only have one regret - I'm not still a wholesale customer. But I understand why the prices are higher for retail. The quantities are small and specialized for each order.I can't recommend this supplier enough. I'll never buy seafood anywhere else.

Update 9/7: They called me and issued a refund for the tuna so I guess all is well now.I was excited at the prices for bluefin tuna and uni, what I got was uni that tasted okay - creamy but not sweet at all, and tuna that was mostly unusable for anything other than negitoro. The otoro was super lean, oxidized, not cut correctly, and had sinew running all throughout. It was almost indistinguishable from the akami, which also had sinew running through half of it lengthwise! I was left with no otoro that was usable for nigiri, the part I was most excited for. In the future I'll probably pay a bit extra to source my fish from somewhere else since I feel like I've just been charged retail for what was effectively trimmings that wouldn't sell.Update: I ended up with food poisoning the next day, thanks for that.

My family and I have ordered from here many times and the seafood is always fresh. The delivery option is also convenient as your order shows up right at your doorstep!
