I visited dairy freeze multiple times now and unfortunately it doesn’t live up the expectations. Ice cream is decent, but the onion rings are not. Seven dollars for seven onion rings is ridiculous. From the outside it looked gold and brown and crunchy but when you bite in, they are chewy and soaked in grease. As much as I wanna love this place I can’t.

I've been a patron here for over a decade. Years ago, this was a fun, interesting burger and steak place to visit. An older style restaurant that had its charm and value. Now? The women behind the counter will basically snarl at you while they begrudgingly take your order and dress your burger. Specifically an older middle eastern lady, and a younger girl of Asian descent. They both, are miserable, and I can't stand coming here for lunch any more. I tip well, am polite, and say thank you -- I'm lucky to even get my order called out when it's ready.
The food has been going up in price steadily before COVID, but now it's at a breaking point where it's almost absurd to get take out that is as expensive as a sit down meal, especially with the horrid service.

The last time I came to this Dairy freeze was before the pandemic. Unfortunately, the food that me my friend purchased last week August 2025) was horrible! I ordered a hamburger and fries with a coke and my friend ordered a poutine. The only thing that tasting normal was the coke. Both me and my friend noticed that their fries had a horrible taste to it, we discussed the taste and we believe that it was the oil they used to cook the fries. If I didn't drown the fries with ketchup, there was no way I could eat them and my friend said the same with his gravy on his poutine. We then started to mocked the food, saying it wasn't even fit for a dog! And that we would even rather try eating dog food, then going back for their fries. Even their hamburger had a different taste to it. And once I left, I drove straight home because I got diarrhea right away. NEVER GOING BACK!

I love your food and come here often, but the woman who prepares food at the counter is sullen, angry, and disrespectful. She's always angry when I come in, doesn't pay enough attention when I tell her what ingredients to put on my burger, and sometimes snaps at me. And she does this to other customers, too. Please, get that woman some training. Please.

$27 for a steak on a Kaiser with mushrooms and fries on the side….. steak was paper thin and did not taste good, fries had no salt and also weren’t good.
Not impressed

Classic diner restaurant eating in Toronto. On a busy corner which makes for interesting streetscape. Food is great. Lots of choice! We loved the cole slaw and the fish sandwich. Dress them any way you want! Great value and lots of fries with the burger dinner!

My partner and I have been coming here for ages and we love it. The staff are very friendly and always greet us warmly, they make the place very warm and inviting. The aesthetic is super cute and cool looking. Shoutout to that Latin man in the back cheffingggg it up haha.
The food is always yummy and cozy, great for those late night munchies and tasty grub type vibe
They also have one of my favourite poutines (freedom fries), I don’t know what it is but it’s just super comforting and yummy very cheesy and lots of gravy! 9/10
Blue raspberry milkshake is 1000000/10
Fish and chips 8/10
Chicken Souvlaki Dinner (with rice) 9/10 just needs a bigger tzatziki dip I usually order an extra one.
Cheeseburger/Banquet burger 8/10 (everyone loves their burgers but I’m personally nose much of a burger person, their burger gives me Harvey’s vibes but better really yummy.

The food is consistent, and the fries with gravy is devine
It’s ok at best. But so insanely overpriced. Two small soft serve cones with no extras and in a regular gone (not waffle cone) were $13.50!!!! You can go to McDonald’s and get the exact same thing for like $2.00 a cone.
Solid burger joint; I can see why it's a Toronto classic.
Had the cheeseburger & chocolates shake, both were quite good.
Great steak sandwiches. Outstanding customer service
Guys... fix your BBQ sauce it tastes like teriyaki glue. And tell your front counter staff to smile once and a while. I get that it's not a fun job but they look like prisoners there.
