I ordered boneless curry chicken with a roti($18)1 double($3) and a can of Diet Coke.
the Diet Coke was expired by almost a month, so I had her take it off the order. Total came to just under $24.
The food was warm and made fast,
the low rating was:
1: the price is outrageous! $18 for 5 chunks of chicken and about 5 potatoes(see picture) 1/2 the container was empty! I can get the same size container of curry chicken where the lid can barely be closed for $19 at a dif roti shop.
2: the food was very bland and life less- even for a white guy.

In the last few months this place got a lot of bad reviews with detailed info, yet it also got a lot of 5 star reviews with no context/info.

Real sad, used to love this place. Been going for 10+ years. Last few time food has been disappointing, bland, tasteless , not even the pepper sauce could save it.

DRS was the place for real trini style doubles and roti quality, that is before the orginal owners sold the shop. The food has change from texture and lacking seasoning, and not to mention pricy. Maybe I will give another go if I am feeling it but my last experience with hard channa/chick pea in the doubles, lack of chutn
ey turned my mind.

Tried the doubles and roti, not bad, but I've had better. The small goat roti is quite small and pricey, but the large bone-in chicken roti fed two ppl and was a good price. I enjoyed the chicken roti, the curry had a nice flavor. The doubles lacked chutney and other sauces, which would make it taste closer to a Trini doubles. The bara was tender but the channa could cook a bit more. Service was pleasant with a smile, please note that they currently accept cash or debit only--- they also don't have a public bathroom there. It's takeout only. Overall, I'd have their food again but will try something else

Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options, mostly curried

I heard sm great things about this place like 5 years ago. I always meant to go but life happens. So I was over the moon when I just happened to be in the neighbourhood.

The food is unnecessarily oily. Which means the oil temperature when cooking ain't right. The price to quantity ratio was a rip off. $12 for a MINI roti, nah man. That full size price.

I would be embarrassed to take any family visiting from Trinidad here. Its aiiiight. Like, if you're feening for roti and aloo pie, it'll pass the test. But if ur looking for GOOD trini food, like rell good?! You can miss this place. Dunno why anyone would say you HAVE TO go here. It's just alright. Maybe it was a better spot 5 years ago.

One of the best places to grab Doubles in the Greater Toronto Area, hands down.

Ajay and his family are warm and welcoming folks and I always drop by when I’m in the Danforth area.

Planned & waited hours to pull off a pickup dinner while grabbing the little one from daycare. As a Caribbean local I find it very challenging to find authentic roti or doubles in the area. I tried to purchase a small duck and a side of paratha but I was told I would have to upsize to large to pay extra for paratha as I can’t just pay extra for paratha with the small ? Anyways not only is that not justifiable to spend and purchase a large meal as a single parent and the only one eating this food. I am also against food waste and know I didn’t want to commit to such a large portion.

So I tried to figure out ways to still support and try this restaurant but for a large duck with paratha and double is 29$ minus tax and tip which is a must… sadly will have to update rating when I have more money to spend to just TRY this restaurant … my gosh.

In these times we need to make sure our people can access our food !! Please change the rules to add paratha to any size meal or make an option to buy paratha.

My family and I got two curry chicken rotis, one curry goat roti and a small curry chicken roti plate.
Portions were nice size but sadly lacking in flavor. I did not get any coleslaw with my plate. Will give this place another try down the road.
