One staff member who claimed to be the owner was willing to give up a $45 sale just to charge 50 cents for a container and proceeded to engage in an argument where she was quite rude and condescending toward me. Although I gave her the option to sell me one roti that did not require a container and end the dispute as I would decline to purchase the second one, that required the container, she insisted in her attempt to educate me about why she had to charge me 50 cents for the container as I wanted my ingredients seperated from the dough. She could not see the wisdom of winning a new customer that would spread a great word about her business and return with friends. She opted to alienate this customer, earn a bad reputation and risk getting a bad review. Because of her, I will never, I mean never, go bac to that place again and I am telling friends about my experience. Congrats lady.
The first picture is what I thought I would get by
ordering a saheena. The second and third picture is the unfortunate saheena I received. I would like to note that I’ve been coming here for the past 6 years. As of recently maybe the last year, I’ve noticed a tremendous drop in the quality of the food. For example the saheena, like what the heck is that? It was tough and almost like a bread. I was already nervous when I heard the microwave start while she made my order but I wasn’t expecting this. I also don’t mind the hike in prices however 17.99 for a large duck roti that had THREE pieces of duck?! That will be my last visit. All the best

I had tried their curry goat from someone else and it tasted lovely, so I decided to visit and try other items…biggest mistake and I would really like my back lol…food was gross! The doubles? Please take that off the menu, it tasted like a dhal wrap…the bone-in curry chicken, smh…the meat was not seasoned, as in, it tasted fresh…the potato was salty and curry sauce itself was a big no….save your coins.

ordered through ubereats- right off the bat I was disappointed with the quantity size. I ordered a large chicken curry and a side order of goat curry for $45. I would be fine with the cost if the quality was good. The food was VERY stale, the rice was hard and the meat had a weird sour taste. I took 2 bites and threw the entire meal out in the garbage. I’ve been going to this restaurant for 15 years, since the original owner sold it the quality of the food has been very poor. The portions are much smaller and the food is not fresh. This was the second time I received stale food. Unfortunately, I will not be going back.

I really wanted to like this place, but on my second visit I got two doubles and midway through the first an ant crawled out. The doubles are good but I can’t enjoy my food like that.

When I order my rotis, I order with extra sauce. 1 because by the time I get home, even though it's only a time minute distance, the roit soaks up the gravy. 2- Because I love extra sauce. I always ask before placing my order, if they can't afford to give me extra sauce (I make sure to let them know they can charge me, but I need that extra sauce), I'll order something else. With charging 20 bucks for a roti and you guaranteed extra sauce to get home to have dry roti. Normally their food is busting out with per flavour, but this was the first time I reached for the salt shaker. No, ma'am.
The doubles were very mediocre, if I've never ate from here before, I would not recommend this Trini spot for doubles or roti. I order a plain roti shell and for the price they charged, I thought it would've been fresh. It was not it was unfortunately stale.
I've dropped by several times and all, but one time, they were actually open during their listed business hours.
I understand that life happens, but your customers take time out of their day to travel to you to support your business, and you're playing hookie. Respect your business hours that you set, so we don't waste time and money traveling to you.
When I politely mentioned this, twlling her I came several times last month, twice a week for almost a month, and how I'm so grateful they're open. She just blankly stared at me. Customer service is important in any restaurant business. I've been supporting the Danforth Roti Hut for over 15 years and was heartbroken to receive this type of service. I would always recommend this shop over any other, but after this experience- I would love to find a nice doubles joint.

I have been ordering here for years used to love the food. A few months ago I ordered some food and had the worst upset stomach. I decided to order the tray of chowmein Friday which was warm like it was cooked hours ago when I advised i will pick it up at 5pm. Once again I had such an upset stomach I will never order from this place again.

Excellent aloo roti and doubles! We had been craving doubles for some time - Danforth Roti was recommended to us, and for good reason! Perfectly spiced and super fresh. We will be back! No pictures as we ate them in the car on the way home :)

A friend recommended the Doubles here. After a day of errands yesterday, we passed by for a quick meal of doubles. They were so good!
Too tired to cook tonight, we decide to give their roti a try. I ordered the Jerk chicken, and the potato curry (as it was popular)
They were both so delicious! Definitely going to try more items from their menu !

Tremendous skimping in all foods. Even the chick peas in the doubles and the paper thin bara. The dhal in the roti is mostly non existent. The curry chicken pieces is cut so small and so little in rice dishes and roti dishes that we have had to order from Circle Square, Mona's and other places that do not skimp. Chick peas is so cheap but they treat same like gold.
