Located in the Alton Tower plaza in Scarborough, Dangol is a great place if you want to have Korean hot pot and noodle soups.
In addition to hot pot, they do have Korean fried chicken for those who opt out for soups.
Their service is friendly and efficient.
We took a shareable hotpot $45 Yukgaejang (Korea spicy beef, with vegetables) this dish is served with two bowls of purple rice and along with the usual Korean side dishes that comes with it.

The food was good but I gave the restaurant two stars because of the service, which was horrendous and almost ruined our evening. Seven of us, all seniors, went there on a weekday at around 7:30 pm. The restaurant was not full at all. We ordered the following dishes to share: a large double order of pork bone soup which was for three people according to the menu, seafood pancake, bulgogi on a hotplate and fried chicken with eight to ten pieces. Our server, who looked unhappy from the start, said that was not going to be enough. Being seniors and just having finished a big lunch at 2:30 pm, we told her it should be enough. As it turned out, we even have left overs. She looked upset and went away unhappy.

When the pork bone soup came it was in a large pot and we asked for a few extra bowls. The server refused to give it to us and asked us to eat with the very shallow bowls! Unbelievable.

The restaurant was suppose to close at 10 pm. At 9:15 pm she started turning off the light. I guess she was still upset that we didn’t order enough food?

Terrible, terrible service.

the food was good and at first everything was okay until the moment we had to pay. the lady demanded that we tip her, and may i remind you we’re students and we were going to give our change anyways and it should’ve been enough but then she demanded we added more. she never once asked us how the food was or offered to give us more water or anything, the only time she talked to us was when she gave us our food, took our order and demanded us to tip. were never coming back.

fried chicken alone gives this place 5/5. only korean restaurant to only offer two refills for side dishes. expect bad customer service. it seems as though they’ve had this issue with bad customer service for a while, and nothing has changed.

if the chicken wasn’t so good, the review would’ve been 1/5 from the service alone.

No air conditioning. Very hot and feeling like no air in the restaurant, especially having hot soup rice. Will not come again.

The food here is decent. Pork bone soup is flavourful. My favourite was the kimchi pancake, perfectly crispy and chewy at the same time.

Went for lunch today, ordered Chicken Bibimbap and kalbi Tang. Both are good, and the small dishes were just regular no surprise. The price is normal as the other korean restaurant, but the service was bad, the server never smile and say thank you even when you greet her and say thank you to her. Even whey you pay and give them tips still no smile and no thank you. Never ask you how the meal was or if you need anything extra. I do not think I will go back, there are lots of Korean restaurant in Markham and Richmond hill area, the food are about the same but the service are a lot better.

I’ve been to this restaurant since they opened last year and have tried a ton of their dishes. I ordered their Korean army ramen stew and it tasted very good. The broth was just right and the meat and veggies combo very well with the ramen noodles. The side dishes that were provided with the meal also tasted very good. Overall, I recommend this place for people that want to try and find some Korean food in Scarborough. In addition, I would come back here again.
