If you’re looking for Roasted Seeds (beans) or Green Seeds, this is the “go to” place to get some! (Btw, coffee beans aren’t beans, they’re seeds, the seed of the coffee cherry. The flesh of the coffee cherry is removed and the seeds are “processed” into what we generally call “beans”, but they’re seeds!)
Dark City has a wide variety of seeds, sourced thru distribution, but I think they also source them directly with the coffee plantations as well. If you want to support coffee growers more directly, then buy from here.
The seeds are roasted to order! If you buy from Grocery stores, Costco, whatever, they’ll all post an expiry date on their coffee. Expiry dates are stupid! Why? Well, as a person who buys Green seeds from Dark City and roasts his own coffee, I can tell you that I can tell the difference between “freshly roasted”, like yesterday, and 3 week old coffee seeds. At 3 weeks, you can see that the crema isn’t as visible or doesn’t form as frothy and dissipates quickly. The taste is slightly less pungent (I drink espressos, black) and, like I said, I can begin to taste the difference @ 3 weeks. At 4 weeks, I can tell more and, as a rule, I try to roast enough coffee so that it lasts just over a month. That way, I can limit my roastings to 12 times a year. (Preferably, for taste, I would roast every week, but who drinks that much coffee and who has the time?)
I can say much more but, be assured, at Dark City, you’re getting farmer sourced seeds from Dave that better helps the farmers and you’re getting expert roasters (like Kevin) who take pride in the quality of their work.

Very nice staff and good tasting beans. They let me bring my own glass mason jar (washed before) to fill with their dark night beans for less waste. It's a 3L mason jar that fits 2lbs of dark night. Dark night are nice dark roasted beans that aren't burnt. I would email prior to picking up beans to ensure availability. They respond fast to email or phone.

I stopped by In person today to check it out and get some beans. They were the only roasters in the city that had Organic beans. David (owner) was fantastic and welcomed me in, gave me a little coffee lesson and let me watch the process of roasting my beans on the spot. I came home and got to enjoy the best cup of coffee of my life. I am in awe of all the flavours that were present. Who would have guessed that coffee with a natural blueberry flavour is my favourite?

I recently visited Dark City Coffee Roasters and had a fantastic experience. The beans were great and incredibly fresh – they were actually roasted 20 seconds into my visit! The service was friendly, and they had exactly what I needed. I’d highly recommend placing an order by phone or online beforehand to make sure they have what you need, but if you're a fan of fresh roasted beans and great service, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Grabbed a bag of their coffee at a winery shop(isn’t that interesting ?) and found out it’s near where I live. I usually order my beans online, but with thanksgiving long weekend, all the orders were taking forever to actually proceed, I am officially out of beans. That’s why I suddenly remembered this place! Was only going to grab a quick bag of bean, their beans are too fresh to drink right away(?never know too fresh will be a problem) the staff was so nice to offer me another bag of kitchen sink for free to start drinking right away!!!! I will come back to buy more beans from them just because of their kindness and their understanding of one coffee addict. ?
