Coffee is good and close to my work but the service is terrible. I had to leave a few times because of the long line up and staff took forever to take my order. I usually come in the morning and understand it’s busy, but the 2 people working there doesn’t know how to move the line. One barista takes order & makes the coffee. The other one lady with short hair just walks around behind the bar and never acknowledges the customers in line. Sometimes, I see customers started talking to each other in line because the line wasn’t moving. There needs to be an operation manager there.

The latte was overpriced for the quality. I got the blueberry scone along with it and it was way too doughy and tough. A bit hard to eat. The tables at the cafe were dirty. We had to clean both the tables and chairs ourselves before sitting down.

Bad cappuccino.
Bad communication from cashier to batista.
Only positive was the apple pie croissant which is probably from an outside bakery.
Work area was terrible too.

New to the area and was looking for a new go-to cafe but was shocked by all the flies on the pastries🤢 immediately lost my interest in this location

The atmosphere is really nice here and I would like to visit more but their matcha is just so terrible. They add barely any matcha and I was just drinking milk. Not to mention that the drink was lukewarm when I got it. Very disappointing!

Love this location. Famous American coffee chain, serving drinks, pastries and cookies. Also selling coffee, milk, cookie, chocolate, liquor, souvenir etc. Have my Iced Matcha Latte…..don’t like too strong cinnamon taste…..felt not match at all. Iced coffee nothing special. Customer service here very dull, not attention….need to tell to fill up milk and self b-service sugar & utensils located at one edged counter which they won’t tell you until you request for it. So don’t bother to tip.

We visited Dark horse and were extremely disappointed, primarily because of how overpriced everything was—$40 for two basic drinks and two croissants. To make matters worse, they don’t display any prices on their food, so we had no idea how much we were spending until checkout. The Chai Latte and Lavender Earl Grey were average at best, with small portions, and the Ham & Cheese Croissants were nothing special—burn and just your typical flaky pastry. For what we paid, the quality of the food and drinks didn’t even come close to justifying the cost. We left feeling ripped off and won’t be returning.

Tried out their summer drink series and went with the Ube Coconut Matcha and it was okay. There was no sweetener added and later noted there was a bottle of liquid cane sugar at the self serve area after I finished my drink. Tasted watered down and not good enough for me to try out the rest of their summer drink series. The atmosphere was nice to pull out a laptop and do some work.

I hadn’t been here in awhile until recently. A whole new staff team is in place and not as attentive as before. After three recent visits, there seem to be enough staff, and yet little things are apparent: patio tables aren’t cleared /cleaned for ages if customers don’t take their mugs/plates in. This invites theft. All the latte/americano glasses are gone — either stolen from the patio or broken, staffer said. Inside tables aren’t cleared/cleaned. An empty bread delivery tray occupied table on a busy Saturday. If they need another staffer, they need one quickly. If it’s a matter of poor training, that points to a bigger issue.

Latte Series
I'm going around town to review lattes. That's all. I've been trying to be inclusive and include baked goods, but all baked goods are good. Unfortunately, not all lattes are good, and in an attempt to improve the lattes of Toronto, I'm here to give them a star rating. The "food" star rating is for the coffee.
Dark Horse coffee is okay. It only gets a three out of five stars.
Temperature: hot (good)
Froth: well done
Espresso flavor: not good, not bad. It has a bitter flavor that overtook my tasebuds and left a bad taste in my mouth. However, it goes in smoothly and gives your the jilt your are looking for.
Service is not so good because a table I wanted to use was not cleaned up, and it still has a couple of empty mugs as I type this.
They did, however, get my coffee to me quickly, though it was in a take-out mug.
Atmosphere is nice and friendly, but the tables and chairs are too close to one-another. I'm listening to a not-so-exciting conversation about summer camp, though there was a juicy bit I'm not going to share.
Unexpectedly, Dark Horse has a small store that offers posh kitsch for the non-discerning gen x-er who, including some wine, coffees, jams, and kitchen goods such as stylish bowls.
It has a great place to pull out a laptop, and there is even a couch if you need a place for a nap (well, that's what I use coffee-shop couches for).

Excellent coffee place. Good atmosphere, positive vibes, great tasting coffee. Did a take out due to lack of time. Dine in would have been even better

The cafe itself is nice.. I went there an hour before close and the guy who was working (blonde tall guy) kept aggressively and awkwardly shouting how much time there was left before they closed..
It just did not feel like a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
