Service was good when Rocco was there. He left and the server forgot about our order and after we mentioned he hurry and brought us a different plate that we didn't order. We didn't like it obviously but still pay for it.Good to go just for drinks.

This place is really cool. I stopped by with a co worker for a bite and ended up getting two sandwiches which were actually amazing!!The first one was the Toscana. Italian fennel salami truffle cream artichokes and oven roasted tomatoes /I highly recommend getting this sandwich the bread and ingredients were freshMy co worker had a mortadella that they call the Bologna. Mortadella, Stracatella, Oven roasted tomatoes and chopped pistachios. Very flavorful and refreshing a taste of Italy.The service was great and we were greeted by friendly staff who sat us down .The atmosphere was great at well.

So saddened to be writing this review; but it was such an unpleasant experience. We arrived to the restaurant and weren’t sure if we could seat ourselves or had to wait. We stood in front of some employees trying to get their attention. There was no sense of order, no greeter or hostess to make you feel welcomed. Once we had someone’s attention we mentioned it was our first time and weren’t sure if we had to wait to be seated or could grab an empty seat. She said you have to be seated, then stared at me in silence as though I was taking up her time. I asked how long the wait was, she told me an hour then stared at me in silence again. It would have been nice to be greeted with a, “ Hi thanks for coming to David Roccos, is this your first time, fantastic, I would love to seat you guys but the wait will be an hour, would you like to wait”. This simple gesture would have made the world of a difference.After we decided we would wait, we weren’t sure where to stand or what would happen next. There was no sense of order. They had 2 poor waiters running around trying to keep up with peoples orders, as 3 staff were standing against the wall ( not sure what their roles were). Besides the fantastic waiters that night, the entire experience felt awkward and not welcoming at all. I’m giving 2 stars only, the food was great but because the overall experience I would not return. Customer service is huge; simple gestures as Hello how can I help you, goes a long way. The food was also overpriced for the portions you got, and the seating outside was very awkward and uncomfortable. Tables were low and you touched backs with the person behind you and were very close to the person next to you.

We love the new concept but do hope the LUNCH cocktail menu returns, it’s not the same experience without a hand crafted cocktail!

I've been waiting a while to visit Bar Aperitivo and it didn't disappoint. The food was incredible and the drinks were perfectly made. Grab a seat at the bar by the window, where you can people watch in Yorkville while you enjoy your meal. I definitely had a great time and will be coming back!

From the moment you are greeted at the door it feels like you are visiting family. The entire team are so professional, friendly and very personable. Kudos to Rebecca and Philip.We had the Gorgonzola with caramelized onions and the stracciatella anchovies and lemon zest crostonis, octopus, lamb chops, eggplant parmigiana which was all delicious. We also had the privilege of a surprise visit from David Rocco, he truly is a wonderful person. I will definitely be returning. I would rate this a 10/10 experience.Zia Franca
