We recently visited Defina Restaurant to try their famous wood-fired oven pizza, and it was an absolute delight. We ordered the Diva Margherita pizza, which was incredibly delicious, along with the Rigatoni pasta, and both dishes were full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The food was not only satisfying but also beautifully presented. The ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I would highly recommend Defina as a must-visit spot for anyone who enjoys great food and a cozy environment.

We came recently to celebrate my mom's first birthday since she passed because she loved Defina pizza and it was a lovely atmosphere as per usual and always delicious food. I do feel the portions are small, but quality over quantity wins in this case :)

Everything not less than 5 stars.
Also the waiter’s generosity with the free dessert platters & coffee for no reason, just impeccable.

This place used to slap! Maybe we came too late but 8:45 on a Friday seemed not too late to me. We sat in a mostly empty restaurant. We waited a bit, but not unnecessarily long. We ordered the beef tenderloin skewers which were bland and way overdone, but the meat flavour was good. I was left wondering how much better it would have tasted with a little bit of pink in the middle and a dash of seasoning. Next, we each ordered a pizza, junction triangle and wild mushroom. Both were fresh out of the oven but somehow still soggy in the middle. The junction triangle was overly sauced and lacked any flavour which was somewhat alleviated with chili flakes and oil. It also had meager toppings, with not even a ratio of one piece of meat per slice. The wild mushroom was also bland and required parmesan, black pepper, and salt to conjure a palatable taste. All in all, there are much tastier places in the neighbourhood to get an authentic pizza such as North of brooklyn and travertini North. As much as I want restaurants in my neighbourhood to flourish, I think the canary might have sung its last song at defina woodfired.

HANDS DOWN thee most delish pizza in Toronto! Every time I’m brave enough to stray from one of my faves, I just have to add another to the list! (not to mention the best GF crust in the city…)
Love taking out as it’s always so fresh, but also a beautiful restaurant to dine in. So much green, super friendly staff, and always spotless.
Can’t recommend Defina on Dupont highly enough… Neil and the team are clearly doing something right! ✨

They were closed for an event, which is completely understandable, however there was no notice of this on their website or posted on the physical store at the time of our visit, during which we saw another set of customers get turned away because they failed to notify their customers of an event we were recommended to their second location, another disappointment.
One of my go-to pizza spots! Everything here is incredible, from their crispy green beans to the mouthwatering meatballs, and of course, the wood-fired pizzas. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-try! I’ll keep coming back for my favorite—Diavola pizza—it’s just too good to resist! Highly recommend!
We went yesterday to celebrate our son’s 40th birthday. It was a bit chaotic because there was a big family there, celebrating baptisms, but the staff were handling it well. Our main server was excellent, friendly, funny and congenial. We shared the calamari and caprese which were delicious. I had the shrimp linguine which unexpectedly included several mussels and calamari, all cooked to perfection. The short rib rigatoni was excellent, as were the huge portions of chicken parmigiana. The prices were extremely reasonable, and pastas were only $20 on Sunday! We were surprised that because it was our son’s birthday, our server brought a complimentary dessert tray with not one but three fabulous desserts! They were the best tiramisu, flourless torte and crème caramel ever. I wish we lived in Toronto because this would be a regular restaurant to dine at.
A side note: the lighting fixtures were unique, and appeared to be handmade pottery which contributed to the ambiance of the place.
I highly recommend Defina for fabulous Italian cuisine, at reasonable prices!
This restaurant is fantastic. Great pizzas, pastas. The octopus and calamari salad is delicious. But what really makes this place truly exceptional is the service. Bahadir is wonderful and is the best. We return often not only because of the great food but because he so wonderful.
Tried the beet chips and the winner.
Nice clean place with friendly staff and street parking available
