Very nice sweets, beautiful flavours
Good food but their service is lacking and slow. I came around 1 pm and waited over 30 mins just to pick up a cake. There was a long line of people after me.
Since it was a birthday cake, they waited until I was there in person to ask whether I wanted the Happy Birthday writing in icing done on the side. Then I had to wait for them to do it. Couldn’t you email or ask me beforehand? Would have saved time. What place can’t even do a simple Happy Birthday writing in advance on an icing plaque.
Then as I was waiting, they served other people before me, doing drinks and food. Why are you serving other people when I was here first? Customer service sucks and I wouldn’t order again when other places can do a birthday cake with less time and complications. Not to mention it’s overpriced frankly
A cute little cafe tucked away in Yorkville.
Cozy place to catch up with a friend or study.
Tiramisu didn't have enough mascarpone.
Strawberry shortcake was okay.
They have BOGO deals for cakes nearing its shelf life.
Products always so delicious and very nice staff!

I ordered a birthday cake from Dessert Lady Cafe & Bakery and had such a wonderful experience. The cake was absolutely delicious, beautifully written on, and they kindly helped me find number candles as well. The staff was incredibly polite, patient, and truly caring about their work. I really appreciated the attention to detail and warm service. I will definitely be coming back!

Another cafe that somehow does not allow for laptops in this day and age.
But the employees are clearly using their devices, AT THE TABLE???
I'm sure they have enough business but its just very disappointing to be a Cafe but don't allow people to work here after commuting all the way here even after ordering. This is the kind of practice that should be banned.

The coconut ube cake from this cafe has been my favourite for years and years but I can't justify the cost of one single slice of cake (now smaller than they used to be) at $12.43 after tax. They were already expensive back when it was $9/slice, I didn't complain when it went up to $10, and now it's $11, this is just ridiculous in conjunction with the shrinking portion sizes. Oh well, better start learning how to bake at home!

Great food and coffee and a nice interior design. Was hoping to add this to my rotation for working lunches/afternoons, but they have a weird no laptop rule, so probably won't be returning.

I feel so fortunate to have such a beautiful and welcoming dessert spot so close to home! The folks working there are always always so kind and helpful!!! And the cake is soooo delicious, I love that they use swiss meringue buttercream for some of the cakes so it isn’t as aggressively sweet.
I go to buy the single cake slices to enjoy at home, and so far I have had the chocolate with vanilla frosting, red velvet, chocolate mousse, and strawberry shortcake. All of them are fantastic! The classic chocolate cake though I think is my top top favourite.
My ONLY complaint is the strawberry shortcake I got was a little sad looking with browning strawberries on the exterior, and the strawberries inside were on their way out too ahaha. But it wasn’t so bad I wasn’t able to eat the cake, just wish it was a little fresher. Strawberries are tricky to work with as they go bad so fast! This is a small complaint though.
Everything else has been amazing and I will continue to frequent this wonderful place. I wish they had cupcakes for sale too in the case! I guess they aren’t big sellers?

The girls on the counter were very sweet, but the owner was very very rude. I asked to use the bathroom and she walked me too it while trying to hide the keypad, but my friend asked shortly after me and gave her the code as soon as we ordered, she was rude off the get go, and passive aggressive throughout. Food was okay but after this experience I do not wanna give this lady more business; also feel really bad for the staff if thats their boss - yikes.

Sometimes busy, recently there on a serious snow day in January and empty on arrival but soon filled up. A short walk from Yorkville Village. Great food!!!
