Came here for my birthday and I am so glad we chose Don Alfonso. Thank you again for an amazing experience with the signature menu!

I have dined at Don Alfonso 1890 many times, and it remains one of the few restaurants where excellence feels assured rather than performed. The room is composed, the service intelligent and discreet, and the overall experience marked by confidence rather than display. You are treated as a returning guest, not a spectator.
The cooking follows the same philosophy. Ingredients are impeccable, flavors disciplined, and every dish reflects judgment earned over decades. There is no excess, no need to impress—only consistency, clarity, and control. It is this quiet mastery that keeps me returning.

We dined at Don Alfonso 1890 during our fall travels to Toronto! Staying at the Westin Harbour Castle made the experience incredibly seamless—the restaurant was just a quick elevator ride away. We were seated immediately, thanks to our reservation, with stunning views of the city as our backdrop. Our reservation timing was perfect, as we were able to watch the evening transition into a sunset and finally end with the city lights at night.
We started with a few cocktails before diving into the Signature Tasting Menu. The kitchen’s ability to accommodate dietary needs was much appreciated. My husband doesn’t eat seafood, and they flawlessly adapted the tasting menu for him with seafood-free alternatives that were just as innovative as the originals. The pace of the meal was spot on. Every dish was a work of art—beautifully presented and very creative. Naturally, with so many courses, there were some I liked more than others, but overall, the presentation, quality of the food, and the ingredients were outstanding. A standout for me were the small sweets at the end; they were served beautifully and ended up being definitely one of my favorite parts of the meal.
Regarding the service, even though we weren't celebrating anything specific, the staff made us feel like we were, making it a truly memorable highlight of our trip.
As for the price, while it is certainly on the higher end, it is a good value for the sheer amount and quality of food and service provided. It is also much more than just dinner; it is a two-hour event.
In conclusion, if you are looking for a world-class dining experience that feels like a special occasion in itself, I highly recommend Don Alfonso 1890.

Very unique experience.
I chose the vegetarian tasting menu with the wine pairing. The food was extremely distinctive—unlike anything I’ve had before.
My favorite dish was the risotto, which really stood out. That said, even after a five-course meal, I still felt a bit hungry.
Overall, it was a good experience and definitely worth trying at least once.

I celebrated my 35th birthday here. Service is good, car parking is hotel valet service. Birthday cake can’t be eaten here, but the restaurant gave me free desserts as birthday gift. Overall is quite a memorable experience.
2 persons cost around $700.

Dining at Don Alfonso Toronto was nothing short of extraordinary. We experienced the tasting menu, and every course was elegant, refined, and bursting with explosive flavours that truly made our taste buds dance.
The attention to detail was exceptional — from the stunning plating and exquisite dinnerware to the thoughtful presentation and descriptions of each course. Being shown the white truffle from Italy was a special and memorable touch that elevated the entire experience.
The service was equally spectacular. Our server, Olivia, was absolutely incredible — knowledgeable, warm, and attentive throughout the evening. We were also supported by several other staff members, each of whom was kind, polished, and extremely professional.
This was truly a top-notch fine dining experience in every sense. Don Alfonso delivers excellence at the highest level. An unforgettable evening.

Don Alfonso delivers a truly exceptional dining experience. Located on the 38th floor of the Westin, the views are stunning, with sweeping water scenery and planes passing by the airport creating a dramatic and memorable backdrop.
Service was flawless from start to finish. Attentive, polished, and genuinely warm without ever feeling intrusive. The cocktail menu is creative and expertly executed, and the food easily matches the setting.
We chose the signature tasting menu and it was outstanding. Thoughtful, balanced, and perfectly paced. Each course felt intentional, refined, and expertly crafted. A fabulous experience all around and easily one of the most impressive meals I have had in the city.

Hair in food!
Maybe originally this restaurant deserved its star but tonight it did not! The food was inconsistent with some dishes being quite tasty but others were just bland and basically required salt. I felt as if the chef took the night off and some inexperienced underling filled in. To add insult to injury we were presented with a dish that had a hair in it. That is completely unacceptable. I don't think that a restaurant of this caliber should have allowed this to happen. Perhaps this restaurant is depending on the beautiful view to compensate for an inadequate dining experience.

They’re gossips. Lady in red today 24Dec @10:40pm was saying my friends and I came for pictures. Bad customer service to gossip about customers. We were late for our reservation because we couldn’t find the entrance to the restaurant. We suggested to sit at a particular place but it wasn’t allowed coz the kitchen was closed. That was okay, but gossiping about us with the bar attendant lady is wrong. You can do better. We’re not coming back

I had an exceptional dining experience at Don Alfonso 1890. This restaurant truly deserves its Michelin star.
The food is outstanding — dishes are perfectly balanced and literally melt in your mouth. The service is impeccable: attentive, professional, and delivered with genuine warmth. The team clearly aims to surprise guests, offering a generous number of complimentary bites with creative and unexpected flavor combinations.
Overall, a refined and memorable experience that fully lives up to its reputation.

Absolutely amazing experience at Don Alfonso. You can really see why it gets the awards it does. We got the 150 Lounge meal with duck, wagyu, mushroom ravioli, bison and lobster. They also offer an assortment of bread to start the meal and a petite four for dessert. The duck, bison are absolute standouts and some of the best executed dishes I've ever had. So far, this is far and away the best 1 Michelin star restaurant in the city. The chocolate soufflé was also very delicious. Would 10/10 recommend.

Very fortunate to have been able to dine at Don Alfonso 1890 for a birthday celebration. Chef Francesco Spinelli continues to put his hard work and rigour into all of the dishes. You can really tell there is passion in what he creates and puts forth.
I was served by Luca Spinelli and from the moment I sat down; immediately felt comfortable and right at home. Luca’s attention to detail, down to the angle of the fork, is impeccable. It’s incredible that he looks over multiple tables with that level of detail.
If you want to be blown away by service and Michelin star dining, I would definitely recommend that you dine here.
