I'm sorry but there's should not be an automatic tip for food you get highschool lunchroom style. The food was not good, the chili was so spicy it was inedible.

The food was very basic, what you'd expect for cafeteria food. I'm glad ROM has this place because we spent a whole day there and needed some food for energy. The price though for what the food was, is definitely not worth it. I can say the staff was very friendly.

Worst Smoked Meat sandwich I've ever had.
Racist! We were followed as soon as we entered the door. This person followed us like a hawk, I was walking with my family and looking for a place to sit, without hesitation, she asked us to leave and said only restaurant patrons can eat in the dining area! I was furious, because we are buying food. I don't even have packed food with me. There are a couple of white people who were eating outside food and packed food and she didn't even looked at them.
I had a hamburger and fries, and both were absolutely splendid, not too heavy on the stomach, and very reasonably priced. The restaurant has a wide selection of items, the dining area is enormous with much better seating than some malls' food courts.
I will be looking to eat at more locations of this chain. It is wonderful to know that there is a place for reasonably priced, wholesome food whenever I visit the ROM.
Would give 0 if possible, food has no flavor, salad is just veggies microwaved with dressing on top. Overpriced garbage food. Bring your own food and save money.
For a BLT and when the cook was done making it, squeezed the bun and then microwaved a new one and replaced the bun by moving everything over. When he went to give me it he said the old bun was hard so they got a new one. I said if it's stale I didn't want it and I'll get something else, but he insisted the new one was fine. When I went to eat it the bun was not fine, it was stale.
I went back and complained and they said they would make me another and threw out my first tray of food. I asked for a beef brisket (which doesn't come with fries unlike the BLT) and when they were making it they put fries on my tray and said it was on the house as if I hadn't paid for fries already. They also gave me a small sauce side thing of salad of my choice (like 4 bites worth).
Needless to say I was not impressed.
The absolute worst museum restaurant I have ever been in. The food is inedible and airport priced. Avoid at all costs.

Restaurant is in the ROM. Not accessible to public.

Cafeteria at the bottom of the ROM. Got a large hot roast beef sandwich with fries from a guy with a lot of personality! Very filling sandwich. They have juicebox waters instead of bottled ones.
Warning: while there is ample seating and a waste sorting station, there are a lot of kids in the cafeteria. It took a few minutes to exit.
