Oh what a huge disappointment!!! Carrot Cake. I tried it at a party about a year ago and it became my favourite right away. I bought it a few more times and still enjoyed it until I bought it again few days ago.Presentation leaves a lot of room for improvement. Layers were so uneven that I could see it even without measuring (1.5 cm difference). But the “icing on the cake” is that it’s barely existing icing. And sloppily applied outer layer. Even mature could have done a better job.$30 for a smallish cake which is not complicated to make at all - mix and bake / apply icing. Someone at the store told me it comes in frozen and then gets defrosted) so it’s not freshly made either. That’s really disrespectful to me as a customer. I will not buy it again or anything else from Dufflet.
I’ve been meaning to get a pastry from Dufflet for a while and finally went in today. The really nice staff helped me pick a not-sweet tart: key lime. Delicious! I highly recommend Dufflet.
Wanted a quality birthday cake in a pinch so I went for a Dufflet cake. Big mistake!! Dufflet cake used to mean quality. I paid $20 for a small lemon cake covered in that really gross artificial icing that’s used on those cheap kid cakes, and there was little to no lemon flavour. What happened to the buttercream you used to use? 2 stars because it was pretty, and the sponge cake was moist. Actually though the cake out and I love cake. The icing and flavour was that disappointing and ruined the cake part of night.
Great service as always. Forgot my tile log pickup yesterday and they honoured the order today without problem. Another reason we always get cakes for important events for the last 25 years!
I really really don’t know how this place got such great reviews! It looks cute, cozy, and inviting, from the outside, but the service is lacking; the regular brew coffee tastes watered down and unappetizing, and although the pastries look delicious the pastry we got were hard like they had been sitting exposed for too long.My girlfriend and I were the only customers and it took forever to get our order. The server never heated up her apple crumble properly, as she requested, or it could be that by the time he heated it and stood chatting in the back with someone while holding her pastry over their unmasked faces it was brought out cold and sprinkled with unseen salivary fluids!A couple of ladies came in and left after about 10 minutes. The place has a weird vibe it is really not a hip coffee/pastry place that you can relax in or get delicious coffee, or warm melt in your mouth scrumptious pastries.??
Two good experiences with Dufflet so far, including purchasing our wedding cake.Aside from being picturesque, the cakes have been absolutely delicious both times. They were easy to communicate with, delivered on time, and loved by our guests.
DEVILS OF YOUR OWN SUCCESS!!!Ordered a carrot cake and specifically said that I did not want the garnish on top - nuts and carrots made of icing. When I picked up the cake it was garnished with nuts. I asked the manager if they could remove the nuts and re-ice the top of the cake. He graciously agreed and when he returned it looked like my 2.5 year old grandson had taken a shovel to the cake. The manager agreed. He then very nicely offered me the cake that was in the showcase which had the iced carrots on it and took it to the back for them to be removed. Once again it looked like a hatchet had been taken to the cake. He kindly offered me a gift certificate for another cake which I declined. Top is all off it looks like the cake has shrunk in size. He also advised me that the cakes are not fresh; rather they are flash frozen and delivered to the retail store. All for $32.00. Next time I will bake it myself.
While there has been a surge of cake and cupcakes stores in downtown Toronto, you can count on Difflet for fresh cakes in multiple variations. Lots of new vegan and gluten free choices. Easy to order and pick up. I got a caramel cheesecake and everyone loved it. It was a huge plus for me that they had everything you need in terms of cards, candles, etc. Making this a one stop shop for a birthday celebration.
Canada Day Carrot cake I tried from Dufflet was good inside but the cream outside was super sweet which was the downside, loved the inside of the cake. I wish they will reduce the sweetness level to medium or lite option. I am now reluctant to try their cheesecake. Bobbette and belle definitely have a less sweetness.
Delicious wedding cake that had our guests asking for seconds! We went with the lemon and golden cake (white w/ strawberries and cream) and were very happy we did! The customer service and consultation were timely, professional and positive. Would recommend to anyone looking for a memorable cake for any special event!

We got an assortment of brownies and bars and each one was excellent! The lady at the counter was very friendly and recommended some new treats based on what we liked and they were delicious. We will definitely come back for another treat soon!
Friendly staff and pretty cakes. I just bought a PETIT LYCHEE VANILLA MOUSSE CAKE DAISY and a LEMON PARFAIT. The lychee one was nice but the lemon one was amazing: moist and lemony. I hope Dufflet can bring back my favorite maple mouse tarts.
I ordered my wedding cakes from here and received so many compliments. The cakes were soft and delicious. Zoya was also great to work with and was very patient with me as I made my decision for the flavors/sizes. Highly recommend!
Ordered one of their cheesecakes as a dessert for a birthday. Everyone enjoyed it. It was beautiful, rich and delicious. The merengue on top was perfectly toasted. Their service was great, they gave instruction on keeping the cheesecake in good condition. Great place, would love to try one of their layer cakes.
Pretty solid selection of treats and some vegan options which aren’t always easy to come by. These cakes are thick and make sure you leave the pre made fridge ones out for a few hours to get that moist texture.
