The flavour and quality of the food alone makes this place a five star experience. We shared an order of pan-fried chicken dumplings and mushroom noodles- both were delicious. Portions are generous, you won’t leave feeling hungry.
The restaurant prefers cash only, but an ATM is available inside.

I feel bad leaving a poor review, since I can tell this restaurant is family run, however I honestly had a fairly uncomfortable visit here. I came here due to the reviews and recommendations and the cheap prices. I was looking forward to a hole-in-the-wall chinese restaurant with really amazing food. However, immediately after entering, I was treated to a restaurant that smelled like bleach and a table that was sticky and damp due to whatever cleaning agent the staff just sprayed it with. So overall, I did not enjoy the environment or atmosphere. My group and I ordered two dumplings (one steamed and one pan fried) and one shanghai style noodle. Even though we ordered in Chinese, I think there was a miscommunication because they gave us pork instead of beef for one of our dumpling orders. The dumplings were fine, but not as incredible as I would've hoped. The shanghai style noodles were fantastic, though! Absolutely loved them! My group finished the plate so quickly! However, overall the food did not make up for the environment, so unfortunately I will not become a returning customer. Also make sure to BRING CASH to pay!

A dumpling spot on Spadina with history and tradition! I’ve been coming here since I first arrived in Canada. Their pan-fried dumplings are unbelievably crispy — truly the best! 😋 The only downside is that, like many places on Spadina, cleanliness isn’t the best and the service can be a bit unfriendly. 😅 But the food? Absolutely top-notch!🤗

Loved the dumplings and other dishes here. We got the following: 3 choices of Steamed Dumplings (Pork, Chive & Shrimp, Pork & Sour Cabbage and Lamb Meat), 3 choices of Fried Dumplings (Pok, Beef and Pork & Shrimp), Hot & Sour Soup and Potato Noodle Salad. Everything tasted really good but my favorite was the fried dumplings.

Something went wrong, when you compare with previous experience. Food is not the same as last year or two. Huge difference in hot and sour soup. Dampling are not the same as previously. Most disappointing difference is eggplant with garlic, much worse if you compare to previous. Looks like is different chief or owner. Sorry, that was last time.p.s. also mixed up with phone order.....

Dumpling House was unfortunately not a favorite for us during our Toronto visit. The dumplings all tasted quite similar, and overall, the meal just didn’t stand out. Probably wouldn’t go back for a second try.

2 stars because the food was actually really good but their customer service was incredibly poor. We walked in and asked for takeout, I asked the server if I could get it split (2 bags instead of 1) and she had a hard time understanding my request, I had to explain myself three times. I jokingly said I was bad at math and she told me that I actually was (?). Then she asked us to sit down while we waited. She brought in the first bag and we tried some of the dumplings while waiting for the second one. When she told us the second one was ready I asked her if we could try the dumplings from the second bag in our table real quick before heading out and she frowned her face and told us no because “her boss didn’t like that”. Mind you, we were the only ones in the restaurant. I didn’t understand why they wouldn’t let us eat THEIR food we just paid for right there. We ended up grabbing the bag and leaving. Very disappointed because the food is actually really good, they could’ve been great.
