TLDR: We recommend eating here. Pork and chive dumplings are awesome, place is not the best maintained, kept yelling at child worker, all in all still worth it if you just wanna eat good dumplings.
Food - Order the pork & chive pan-fried dumplings. Dumplings were definitely worth it, haven’t tried any of their non-dumpling dishes but if you’re going to Dumpling House Restaurant you should probably get the dumplings.
Service - Pretty fast service but it was definitely someone’s son or nephew who served us and sometimes we felt bad when they yelled at him for doing something wrong. He clearly didn’t want to be working but he was doing an alright job.
Atmosphere - Mortifying bathroom, tables a little scuffed, condiments a little sticky and one of them was broken. Also like mentioned they kept yelling at the kid :( Bearable enough for the good dumplings though.

Overall I'm not bad but it didn't look clean and looked old school decor. The staff was friendly. The chicken was dry. Will say the dumplings were pretty good. The rest was not the great especially considering so many good places around it

Discovered dis delicious dumpling destination! Dynamite!!
This is the first and it’ll be last time visiting this place. Although the food was tasty, The server was very hostile and aggressive. The main issue was the smell in the place. While sitting and trying to enjoy the food, I’d randomly get whiffs of sewage and damp air from the basement washroom area. It’s horrendous. If it wasn’t for being with Family, I would’ve picked up and just left. I could only imagine what kind of care they put towards handling their food if the place smells so bad. I’m Sure there’s a lot of better places to eat.

Great tasting fried vegetable-filled dumplings! Sauces/vinegar on the table add a wonderful flavor to the meal! Good location on Spadina Ave. in Toronto.

Food and portions are amazing. The noodle I ate was one of the most delicious noodle I've tried ever. Pan fried noodles are amazing as well.
Cash only🙄

Best dumplings in Toronto.
We ordered the House Special noodles and pan fried chicken dumplings. the food tasted fresh, it was ready very quickly, and the portion was very generous. Some of the best tasting food i have eaten in toronto, will come back again.
bathroom gave horror movie vibes, that’s how u know the food is gonna be good
Used to go here back in the day when the lines were out the door and you had invest time to get some of their dumplings. After going last night, I have to say it’s completely dropped off from where it used to be, the dumplings were rather tasteless, the table wasn’t prepared with its usual array of sauces and the service was a little inattentive at times. Plus too it’s a nuisance to be all cash as you have to spend only what you have in your pocket, honestly who carries cash anymore. The sauces weren’t what I remembered either, not nearly as yummy when I used to dip my steaming hot dumpling into that flavor container. Glad I scratched the itch, but we will not be going back anytime soon.
I saw a lot of really good reviews and wanted to try this place out. As much as I wanted to like this place, my experience wasn’t as positive.
They take cash only and they have an ATM inside. It seems like a family operation rather than people hiring trained staff members with respect to the quality of service and attentiveness. They also don’t serve alcohol.
The food was really mediocre at best. The green onion pancake was greasy and super bland. It tasted like the dough was basically a fried flour and water mixture with zero seasoning. It was also tough and not pleasant to eat.
The steamed dumplings were okay flavour-wise, but they were thick and chewy. They wouldn’t be that different to compare with the quality of frozen dumplings you buy from the store.
We tried some fried dumplings and those were fine. Maybe just not my thing and still prefer steamed dumplings.
The fried rice was also fine.
It’s a good amount of food for the price, but the quality of food is lacking in my opinion.
