We have been here before and had the tacos and they were nice. This time we got the platter for 2 to 4 and it was not anything that I would ever order again. The margaritas were way too sweet and not enjoyable. We have gone a couple of times, but I'm not sure that we will be back anytime soon. Not as good as it has been in the past.

We went to Catrin for lunch before going to the SoulPepper Theatre and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We ordered the black bean soup and the barbecue cauliflower bowl along with salsa and chips – all which were excellent. Also definitely can vouch for the Mojitos :). Our server was knowledgeable and sociable, and ensured we got out within the hour - in time for the theater. Really like the ambience of this restaurant, have been there before, and will definitely be back again.

The staff was very good and energetic. The person who helped us, Katty, was extremely friendly and explained everything very nicely. She also arranged a birthday surprise for my friend, which made the experience even more special. The ambiance was amazing and the overall vibe was great. The food was average, but the service and atmosphere were definitely the highlight.

The Ambiance is Spectacular! Walls covered with bold colorful Mexican graphics and the atmosphere is exciting. Our server Lindsay was Outstanding! she recommended items from the menu based on our tastes. The appetizer Beets was very good. Another appetizer she recommended Tacos - Pork based excellent. Then for our Main she recommended the Braised Rib and it was outstanding! Dessert we have something with ice cream also delicious. Lindsay made the moment truly memorable. Highly Recommend you visit! Oh! Margaritas were Excellent! along with a Don Julio sipper.

El Catrín has potential, but the experience fell short. Considering the price point, the food felt rushed. It tasted salty, lacking the care and balance you'd expect. Service also fair but has room for improvement in making the customers welcome. The one redeeming moment of the night was the tres leches, it genuinely resurrected the dining experience and showcased what the kitchen could be capable of. Overall El Catrin needs work if they're going to charge what they do. The dessert was memorable, but the rest of the meal didn't live up to the hype.

First time here. Good food, great service (we had a reservation at 9pm and there was a walk in line up, so we were ushered in no problem). Enjoyed the whole experience. Looking forward to trying more of the menu and patio drinks in the summer.

After a long day of travel we stumbled upon this restaurant. Everyone was STARVING and grumpy. Our server, Jose I believe(I hope) , was incredible. He had guacamole being made fresh in front of us before I even sat down. Knowledgeable, kind, and best server I have had in a long time - and I am in the industry and pay attention to these things. I would return to Toronto just to come back here and to the Winter Market.
