came into the restaurant with high hopes, however everything went down hill after we ordered. Magaritas were horrible… tasted like water and a shot of tequila. Waited a good 45 minutes before being asked if everything was okay. i asked how long our food was going to take she said 12 minutes. Restaurant is not big, they had a few tables open however they turn people away.. not letting know that they could wait, or return after a certain time. it was an absolute" no we’re busy". After asking the server how long the food was would take she said 12 minutes .i did noticed that she had made a mistake and didn’t not put our order in which is okay people make mistake but walking by our table and just seeing we only had drinks and chips with gua… geez you would think that something is missing. After asking us if were doing okay...i asked how long our food would take...she realized that she had not put our oder through...went to the kitchen fast and came out ...she said 12 mnutes. I was no longer interested on spending more money. I politely told her that i was no longer interested. Over i was expecting better service with so much competition out there.
If you do go there- dont get margaritas,,,they wre pour from a big picture...the chips tasted burt and the guac was blant

Generally love this resto but apparently reduced the amount of food on one of their standard combo platters to accommodate the Uber charge. This wasn't clear when ordering. $90 for half the expected food was a shocking disappointment. Please go back to your equitable menu or just stop offering uber.

this place is so cute, the staff are incredibly nice, and it’s some of the best mexican food with toronto. i would highly recommend the flan, it’s some of the best i’ve ever had.

Came to visit right after the restaurant opened, skipped all the rush hours. The entire restaurant had a very homely atmosphere. Food was tasty and the portions were so great!!
Food was amazing, we ordered guacamole to start and a veggie platter for two shared among the three of us and it was more than sufficient amount of food. The owner/server was so friendly and got everything very quick. Food was fresh and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try authentic mexican food. It’s close to the subway and you will not be disappointed!

Food is excellent, but if they are busy, may be long wait for food. To avoid that, we usually get here by 6:30 pm. The chicken tamale very tasty. Sangria was okay. The meat platter for 2 very good, more than enough food. Friendly service, Thank you!

Omg the food here is amazing. Service is very friendly and attentive. Can be a little slower if the restaurant is very busy. But the flavours are well worth any wait. Highly recommend. Tons of GF options for those w Celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. Prob my fave Mexican restaurant in Toronto for taste alone.

We walked in not knowing what to expect, and admittedly this place definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea at a glance, but what we loved about it was how genuine, down to earth and delicious the food was.
Everything was fresh, tasted truly home-made, authentic, no fluff, no bull, clean and wholesome. The flavors converted my husband who usually has zero interest in mexican food. He was raving and our bellies were so happy. 10/10 would bring a friend and come again. The service was lovely. It felt like a family business, run and decorated by the family which was so sweet and the niece Izzy has her paintings on the wall and the work is so interesting, it captivated me, I kept thinking about it after I left. The space is a bit dark, but don't let that deter you. Overall, a unique time, incredible food, nice people.
We need to keep more gems like this alive in this economy.

First off the location is easy to get to, being steps from Coxwell station and right on Danforth at street level. There's plenty of seating inside and the vibe is super colorful with many masks lining the walls.
Price wise costs were higher than expected, but portions are very generous and dishes are heavy/filling. For example, at dinner, a meal for two combo was enough food for 3 people (we got the meat plate option).
I liked that tons of fresh veggies/ salad was used for the tacos which tasted homemade and not greasy. The only qualm I had was with the beef being overcooked (dry and hard) for our beef tacos. Otherwise everything was great, flavourful and I'd come back!
