Excellent food. Owned/operated by some younger chefs. A bit on the pricier side + need to figure out a way to dim those lights (atmosphere will improve significantly!).
I’ve been here twice and both times the service was really bad. Extremely slow and not attentive. The second time I actually left because I waited 20 minutes just to be able to order and the waitress wasn’t taking my signals at all; so I just walked out. It’s too bad cause their food is really great. I’m only doing this review because the service was consistently bad both times.
Was there for belated birthday dinner, service was excellent and food was delicious!!
Asked the server for recommendations on a drink, she was so helpful and made a drink according to what I specified I liked...needless to say, I really enjoyed the drink!!! Even my friends liked it and would definitely order if it was on the drink menu. 😊
Thank you est for a great dining experience!!
This place has been on our radar to try for a long time. We went with a party of 8 for my birthday on May 24. The food was absolutely outstanding. We shared a bunch of dishes: oysters (tasted so fresh), Caesar salad (incredible dressing and croutons), Steak tartare (delicious), pain au lait (we couldn't get enough of the butter!!), and the rest was outstanding: lobster agnalottie, potato pave, duck. WOW. Had an incredibe cocktail called Almost Famous. We will all be back again. I also left my birthday present there and they were kind enough to hold onto it for several weeks after. They were responsive and kind. They even left me a birthday note on the table when we arrived. Amazing food and super adorable friendly servers!!
Wow! ēst is a neighbourhood gem! The cocktail was deeelicious - I had the Strange Love. The food was mindfully prepared with such eye for details: the oysters shucked proper with fresh grated horse radish, fresh lemon, good accompanying sauces; Cesar salad made with kale (yum); Arctic char was well done with crispy skin; tenderloin cooked to perfection - doneness as ordered. And we couldn’t keep our hands off the fries and the freshly baked brioche... Going back soon to try all the other cocktails!
Dining at ēst was one of the most memorable food experiences I’ve had in Toronto. Located in the Riverside neighborhood, ēst is tucked away just enough to feel like a hidden gem. We chose the tasting menu, which is clearly the heart of what ēst offers. Every course was plated like a piece of art, and the flavors were creative without ever being pretentious.
Service was impeccable throughout the evening. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering thoughtful wine pairings that complemented each course beautifully. Special thanks to Chef Jordan who not only knows how to cook at the highest level but also how to create an experience—one that’s both elevated and personal. Highly recommend—and already looking forward to the next visit.
This Restaurant! What a find! Such a treasure in Toronto for people looking to satisfy a hunger for exceptionally flavourful food and an experience for your senses on a plate. Such delicious masterpieces! Thank you to the Chefs for existing and sharing your gifts. A Special Restaurant!
This is a relatively hidden gem in Leslieville. We came here as all the usual spots were filled and crowded for a brief respite and ended up enjoying it more than we thought possible. Great quality food for a reasonable price. Great spot for raw foods if you are a fan; oysters were great and the tartare had two serving sizes for those extra hungry folk. Drinks were great as well and the truffle grilled cheese was very melty. Highly recommend over the usual fare.

My wife and I came here with another married couple we know from my job, he chose this restaurant. Wasn't impressed at all with the food we got for the amount we spent. It took way too long to get served and settle our bill. Plus it was hot inside.

Had a cute solo date here to celebrate myself and it was a great time. Their butter was just out of this world. Oysters were fresh and food was delicious.

This place was on my list of places I wanted to try. The first time I visited with my friend, the food was delicious. Our service was okay given the waitress was new. We were patient and we thought she did a great job for her first night.
Recently I wanted to bring my whole family to try this place out as I’ve been raving about it. Sadly I had to cancel the day before because two of my family members have gotten sick. When I called to notify them that I can’t make it. They told me okay thank you for letting them know in advance. Please explain to me how I’m charged $125 for not showing up when I called to cancel the rvsp. The individual cancelling my reservation should’ve told me there would be a cancellation fee. Or better yet make them purchase a e gift card to use on their next visit. Nope. Somehow I’m paying $125 for nothing. In the rare chance I can’t make a rvsp at other food establishments they are understanding and wouldn’t charge me a cancellation fee.

Really good grilled cheese sandwich. But steak tartare is overpriced for the quantity, and lacking in flavour.

Really phenomenal spot, great live music. I recommend the octopus and the duck. Some of the best I’ve had.

Went in for dinner on a Tuesday, not a lot of people inside. One of the best confit duck I've had in Toronto, with generous portion and very reasonable price tag to it. Would recommend.
