Excellent food, excellent service and nice dinning atmosphere!

We had an amazing dinner with a group of 14, and it was nothing short of fantastic. The food was top quality, and the polvo was some of the best I’ve had locally! The service was incredible, with the staff being attentive and accommodating, and they struck a perfect balance between Portuguese and English—many of us learned a lot. Such a gorgeous and cozy atmosphere for our group. We’ll definitely be back for more!

Flor do Ave offers a little taste of Portugal with a fantastic variety of classic dishes like bacalhau, francesinha, and octopus, all prepared to perfection. The wine selection is impressive, and the staff enhances the experience—our server, Sabrina, was courteous and attentive, while bartender Gil helped us pick a great bottle of wine. Highly recommend and would definitely return!

Having been to Portugal more than once, I have a soft spot for Portuguese cuisine for its authenticity and lack of complications. To me, Portuguese food is forever associated with warm people, welcoming atmosphere and great company.

Flor do Ave delivers all of the above from the moment you set foot in the restaurant. It is a little slice of Portugal with its handmade tiles, wine bottles and other decorative touches.

Our experience tonight was outstanding. The simple menu was complemented by a rather extensive list of specials. We had the white wine clams and octopus salad as appetizers, and monk fish rice and skewered beef for mains.

Let's start with the biggest surprise, the skewered beef! The quality and taste could go toe-to-toe with the best Brazilian churrascaria any day! The meat was seasoned beautifully and grilled to perfection.

The monk fish rice brought me back to many monk fish stews and rice dishes I have had in Portugal. It was rich and aromatic. The clams were served in a flavourful and flagrant white wine sauce. The octopus salad transported me back to the Algarve instantly.

The cocktail was outstanding and the after dinner espresso hit the spot just right. Seeing all the families and friends dining together in this intimate restaurant just made the meal that much more enjoyable.

The word 'exquisite' isn't strong enough to use for the fabulous anniversary dinner tonight. I had the filet mignon w/risotto, my hubby had the striploin with fries n egg. Cooked to perfection. Even with leftovers, we had to try the chocolate mousse and the passion fruit mousse. Every bite was a slice of heaven. Definitely back to try the seafood specials. Thank you!!!

Flor do ave has a really good menu and truly represents a typical Portuguese restaurant with great food options! The cod fish was on point! I wish a better service, not only from the servers but also from the owner. Missing experience on properly serving wine, no second bite quality check done, it’s not a fine restaurant but finesse is missing for the price. Small details that I recommend for its best!

My wife and I needed some comfort food that day, so we decided to have Portuguese cuisine. The idea was to have food that would bring our memories back to the warm sunny days while vacationing in Portugal. To my amazement this restaurant brought me back to those memorable and wonderful joyous days. The grilled seabass and vegetables paired with my favorite Alentejo wine, my wife had oven roasted Cabrito paired with vegetables. I'm telling you that this food is a 11/10. I fell in love with Portugal all over again.

Depois de muito ouvir falar desse leitão, lá fui provar. Não posso dizer ke o leitão não era bom, porque estava bom. Mas nada de especial, o empregado de sala muito atencioso , talvez por ter poucos clientes. Mas hoje fomos 3 pessoas jantar, duas come mos leitão e um colega pediu picanha, para seu total desagrado e claro nós ja janta mos a medo depois do sucedido 😅 O meu colega estava a jantar normal com a comida no prato, quando este se depara com um BARATA no meio da comida 🤢🤢🤢🤨 O empregado mais uma vez prontificou e retirou a comida e logo pediu mais uma comida o meu colega, ao ke ele recusou a comida porque ficou com nojo da comida o ke é normal. Mas o ke mais me revoltou foi a falta de respeito do Proprietário que não teve os tomates no sitio de vir pedir desculpa há mesa nem dar uma palavra nem os cafes oferecer para se tentar desculpar. Anda ali aquele mono seboso para traz e para a frente e engasgar se todo no meio da sala, e não tem consideração nenhuma pelos clientes, pelos menos com quem não é seu amigo/ conhecido. Foi sinceramente a primeira e ultima vez que fui lá jantar e não recomendo a ninguém mesmo. Ou se forem tenham cuidado e abram bem olhos, pois podem ser os próximos.

I recently visited this charming Portuguese restaurant with a casual and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the tasteful decoration—simple yet elegant, with a cozy vibe that immediately made me feel at home.

I ordered the steak, and it was absolutely amazing! Perfectly cooked, tender, and full of rich flavors, it’s clear the chefs here take great pride in their craft. The portion size was generous, and every bite was a delight.

The service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and quick without being rushed. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and were happy to recommend dishes.

Overall, it was an excellent dining experience, and I’ll definitely be returning. If you’re a fan of Portuguese cuisine or just looking for a place with great food and warm service, this restaurant is a must-try!
