Very disappointed with the food. Everything was extremely overcooked and difficult to eat. We were also told that the chef was away so maybe that was the reason why the food was so underwhelming. We ordered almost everything on the meat menu plus eggplant and arctic char ceviche and out of the 10 dishes that we ordered, we only liked the baos which were very delicious. Everything else was quite disappointing.

This restaurant is the definition of 'if you know you know'. My friends and I visited Foxley for dinner last weekend and really enjoyed it. The space is super chill and relaxed, but the air is filled with delicious aromas of their authentic Asian food. Though this is definitely not a spot to look for crazy cocktails and drinks, they had a good list of brews and sakes to accompany your meal. The food menu was unique and delicious.
What we tried: Pan fried lamb and duck prosciutto dumplings, Fried general tao chicken wings (a MUST), Sticky pork side ribs with caramelized shallot glaze, and Baked eggplant with yuzu miso glaze.

Tucked behind the more popular and bustling thoroughfare on the Ossington strip is Foxley - a gem whipping up small plates of Asian fusion your palate has probably never tried before.
Hokkaido scallop ceviche
Pan fried lamb and duck prosciutto dumplings
Stick Pork side ribs with caramelized shallots
Baked eggplant brushed with a yuzu miso glaze
If I could, I would try the entire menu - every dish was unique and complemented each other fiercely - Not to mention the cute and quiet patio hiding behind the bistro as well. Though the portion sizes were quite small, this Ossington eatery punches upwards with big flavour and personality.

Came here on a Friday night. Vibes are super casual and service was fast. The food was good, but nothing outstanding or really memorable. We had the char ceviche which was fresh but I was expecting a bigger flavor profile from considering the ingredients. We also had the beef short ribs, which were ok, again the flavor profile lacked anything special. The stand out to me was the baked eggplants, which was very forward in lemon grass and ginger flavor profiles. The texture was very soft creamy as well however, the price point for this was very large considering you only get a third of an eggplant. Overall it was a decent dining experience.

Loved the service and our server. Back patio was really cute too. Unfortunately the beef I ate made me so sick at night. It had a gamey taste but it’s on me that I didn’t say anything. Could be a one off experience

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves to be shared — not only out of anger, but in fairness to future guests.
I booked a table for 10 with the owner, Tom, for my birthday four days in advance. I confirmed everything over email, including bringing a cake and agreeing to the $50 minimum spend and 18% gratuity. Due to traffic, I arrived 20 minutes late but the restaurant did not call me, and the restaurant was empty. I informed them immediately 2 guests couldn’t come, and their seats were quickly filled — yet I was repeatedly pressured to pay for the no-shows and embarrassed in front of my friends.
At 7:40 pm, we were rushed to finish even though the next reservation wasn’t until 8:30. Even after I asked for the cake to the waiter, the owner’s wife still rudely reminded us to leave. We cut the cake quickly and asked for the bill by 8:02 pm, and I found that I was charged an unexpected $24 cake plating fee and pushed to pay a $100 tip despite poor service. During this discussion, I was confronted by three people — the owner, his wife, and a waiter — which left me nearly in tears as I felt humiliated, disrespected, and unfairly treated. I still paid over $500 plus a $50 tip out of goodwill.
The owner later emailed me to apologize, but then publicly accused us of wanting free food. That was hurtful and unprofessional. The food itself is flavourful as I did enjoy it two year ago, but no one deserves to be treated this way — especially during a celebration.

Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing and completely ruined what was meant to be a celebration. I usually don’t pay much attention to how staff behave, but this experience was so poor that it deserves to be shared. Don’t just take my word for it — check other bad reviews and you’ll see a similar pattern.
My friend, a regular customer, had booked her birthday dinner here. She confirmed all the details in advance over email — from the minimum spend to whether we could bring our own cake. We even extended our reservation time to accommodate late arrivals. At that point, everything seemed professionally agreed upon.
However, on the day of the event, the service was shockingly bad. The server appeared annoyed that our group was arriving gradually and was passive-aggressive throughout. Two guests were cancelled due to traffic, and instead of showing understanding, the staff made a scene — loudly reminding us (in front of other diners) that we’d have to pay for the “empty chairs.” They even took the chairs away and filled the spots with other customers, yet our bill still covered those seats. It was embarrassing and disrespectful.
Things got worse after the cake-cutting. FYI, our bill covers for the cancelled seats and we finished on time. Despite our prior agreement, the bill included a per-plate “cake fee.” When the birthday girl politely asked for clarification, the waiter dismissed her, claiming she “didn’t understand dining rules.” Exhausted by his attitude, she said she’d still pay but wanted to share her feedback with the manager.
That’s when things became truly unacceptable. The owner, Tom, and his wife came over — instead of resolving the issue professionally, Tom's wife yelled at her, escalating the situation until she was in tears. After much back and forth, they reluctantly agreed to adjust the tip for poor service. Even after the bill was paid, the owner’s wife made an insulting remark to some guests, suggesting they should “come clean their own plates in the kitchen.” Professionalism, empathy, and respect for customers are completely missing. What was supposed to be a joyful evening turned into a humiliating experience.

Service was a negative…. Came in during ossington fest. No line up.. the Asian lady came and asked us if we wanted a table for drinks or dinner. We said we’re doing drinks and some appetizers. She replied” sorry no snacks here”.. then left us standing at the door for 10 minutes
