Good, big ups SONDIDO GTA and Jesus Bustamante. Got the smoked salmon latke they were good a little strange, but felt like home food so pretty awesome. I like my latke more hashy I guess. Everyone’s happy in there just eating in the music area is awkward lmao. Live music, good eats. Carrot cake kind of a bust, chocolate cake sooooooo good. Girlfriend got veg wrap she was underwhelmed

I remember the café back over 25 years ago and it's still in business today with live music as well. You must try their fish & chips and burgers.

Even Lindi performed at this café in the past.

Came on a Sunday night for a comedy show. When I first entered, I was met with a warm welcoming vibe. However, when I was led into the room where the comedy show was hosted, I found it to be extremely tight on space. My seat was blocking another group of guests from getting up to go to the bathroom. So I had to get up every time, in order for them to get out. I am sure this is not the case on a regular night without any events going on though. The service was great and the food was good. However, the comedy show wasn't up to my expectations as it seemed like some of the comedians weren't prepared for the theme of the show. Besides that, I did enjoy my time at Free Times Cafe. Would recommend if you are in the Downtown area and are by Kensington market.

Came for the all you can eat brunch buffet and left wonderfully satisfied. Food was delicious and service was fantastic. No complaints at all. Will definitely come back.

Edit: I think the quality is dropping a bit for the food for the regular meals. My bagel had mold, my egg had a hair and when I asked to swap my bagel for a slice of challah, the server brought me regular bread.

FIRE FOOD AND COMEDY?? Heck yes my friends! Attended for raps and laughs and boy was the food to die for!! Oh good lord that soup and latke combo I’m drooling just thinking about it. Nachos? Incredible! Cheese allllllll the way through babyyy. Drinks were a tad pricey but the service and staff were top tier! It was busy as duck and they didn’t skip a beat, they were on it and never left us hanging. They have great table service timing I’ll tell ya! 10/10 great show, great food, and already have tickets to return! (But you don’t need tickets to enjoy their meals my lord I’m starving now ..)

Hostess was rude, told us we were late, show was at 7:30 show started at 8:20. Common sense would be you pay for a seat, you get a seat not we will have to squeeze you in.

Brutally warm hot, had a ac but didnt turn it on, had 30+ people in a 15x15 ft room in the back.

Minimum purchase of $10, drinks were bad.

Overall the snarky hostess is the reason i wouldnt go back.

The owner is not kind and quite rude.
We went for trivia night and then we were told we HAD to spend a minimum of $10 per person. This wasn't mentioned on their page or social media so we didn't like that every person was forced to buy something even though others in the group did get food. I got the brisket latke slider and it was an incredibly small portion for $17! The latke was hard and not that tasty, and most definitely over priced.

Would recommend other places for trivia and stay away from here!

It was not the first time I was here for comedy shows from ucrazystandupcomedy, a comfortable hall, fast service and a warm family Ukrainian atmosphere. Very tasty chicken soup. It was not the last time I was here.

Very pushy and rude owner. Went for trivia and the food was very mediocre. Latkes were super hard and unappetizing.
