Overall Future Bistro is a great spot if you’re looking to get some work done, read, or just relax with a couple of friends.
The vibe is spot on, light background music, a comfortable atmosphere, and usually enough people around to enjoy some casual people-watching without it feeling crowded.
The food is solid for the price, which typically sits around $15–$20. Portions are generous, and after eating here 3–4 times, I’ve never had any complaints.
The staff are friendly enough polite and helpful. They’ll gently remind you about your order if needed, but they don’t go out of their way to be overly chatty, which honestly fits the relaxed vibe of the place well.
Overall, a dependable, chill spot that’s easy to come back to.

Hit the all you can eat perogies with my friends on a Wednesday night in December. They went so hard after a long day of studying. Future had many characters too — four guys loudly discussing Marxism over notes, an old man in a cap reading Anna Karenina, a couple who couldn’t stop laughing so hard they snorted their water, a performative male who knocked on the window and mimed eating up. Beautiful.
Super hip and chill place

Too cramped and the food is definitely not worth the price. It’s a cozy hangout with a great patio but I don’t think I’ll be back.

Forget about all the negative comments-- this is the place to be! And you either get it or you don't. It doesn't pretend to be anything but what it actually is. It's the type of space that rarely exist anymore due to extreme commercialization of restaurants, diners and coffee shops. It's a place where you could sit for hours, and stare out the window, and contemplate life. Maybe read a couple poems or two, or read a few chapters of a novel. And sometimes you might strike a conversation with another patron, many of whom have unique non-replicable personalities. It's not about the food, or the taste or the coffee. The atmosphere elevates the entire experience. Futures is an institution and I hope it stands the test of time.

Visiting Toronto for the first time and stumbled upon the cafe as it was near our airbnb. Loved the terrace atmosphere, where you could see all types of people of all types of ages. Great for people watching! The food was delicious too! So delicious we came back again and again! I am still dreaming about the potato wedges with mushroom gravy!

Great dessert, though maybe pricey. Can't find prices on the menu board inside which seemed off.

Love the chocolate truffle cake....OMG good. Very friendly staff. Been a favorite of mine for years. Took some peeps and popped in today for a late lunch. Our burgers were okay and our fries arrived cold. Desserts were still awesome, but a lot less selection to choose from. Update:- food was better (aka, hot food was served hot) Only one cash open, so people who wanted just a coffee and dessert had to wait in a slow moving line with people who couldn't decide what to have for lunch. Separate clashes are so much better.
