I love eating at this wonderful neighborhood restaurant bar. There are so many delicious choices of tasty food to enjoy. The place has absolute character amd memorabilia from the past. Down to earth and feels like home cooking to me and my friends. We are so happy to hear such great music being played too, that undoubtedly contributes to the ambience! Don’t come here on a Saturday. The server is incapable of managing 4 tables that arrived at different times. It took over 10 minutes to get a fountain pop and another table waited over 30 minutes. The food is fine but it’s not worth the aggravation of the terrible service.

My girlfriend and I have given this place three chances - no more. The woman who runs the bar on Saturdays is completely incompetent. It took almost 10 minutes for her to even address us after we walked in. Why? Because she was chatting to the regulars at the bar and arguing with her child (yes, her ~12 year old son was sitting at the bar during lunch). 10 minutes later, we got our drinks. It’s been another 20 minutes now and our food is nowhere in sight. It shouldn’t take 40 minutes to get served a few sandwiches in a bar that is 25% full at lunch time on a Saturday.
Not sure how the food is going to be today, but the quesadilla and fajitas I’ve had in the past were nowhere near worth the wait or the price.

I've been a resident of this neighborhood for over 20 years, and it's disheartening to see how Gabbys has declined. Tonight, after being seated on the patio, we waited 15 minutes only to be told we couldn’t be served there due to a complaint from the previous night. Unfortunately I’ve had odd incidents similar at this location as well. Not only has the service gone down hill but the food quality is not far behind… We ended up walking a few blocks further south to right wings where we received fantastic service, food and drinks ! PS they also use an automated response to low reviews… they don’t actually make effort to right their wrongs.

Our recent visit to Gabby’s Bar was quite disappointing. After sitting on the patio for almost 20 minutes, we were informed that we couldn’t dine outside due to a complaint from the previous night. To clarify, our group was not causing any disturbance; we simply wanted to enjoy a meal outdoors.
This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered poor service at Gabby’s Bar. Frustrated by the experience, we decided to take our business to the Right Wing nearby, where we enjoyed excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere.
For those considering Gabby’s Bar, I advise caution. Based on our repeated negative experiences, there are far better dining options in the Young and Eglinton area that offer superior food quality and customer service.
