Excellent little place to get Jamaican foods. I very much enjoyed their Jerk Pork and they're patties are pretty good

Have a variety of food to choose from I ordered oxtail and curry goat. I will say the curry goat is pretty tough, but the oxtail is really nice. Good customer service and nice people.

I have heard so much about this restaurant and was very excited to try it. We ordered on uber and had a few issues with our order. You can see from the photos that the products were not delivered as expected. While the messy delivery is an uber issue, I would expect that the restaurant choose containers appropriate for this type of travel. It’s the first time I’ve ever received West Indian food in a clamshell vs a container that can be properly sealed with a lid.

The other issue I have is I upsized this to a large which costed me $26. I expected more than 10 small pieces of goat which you can count in the photo. This is the smallest large I’ve ever seen. It was more rice than anything which ended up dry since a lot of the gravy was in the bag and could not be eaten. The goat flavour was good but overall a very poor experience.

My husband’s jerk pork tasted more like stew and was quite dry. As Caribbean people, we know what to expect from the flavours and this was not it.

Gerry's Fine Foods: A Taste of Jamaica (with a pleasant surprise!)

I recently visited Gerry's Fine Foods, and I have to say, their Jamaican patties are absolutely incredible. The crust is a true standout – light, flaky, and wonderfully buttery, providing the perfect contrast to the flavorful filling. And speaking of the filling, it hits all the right notes with just the right amount of spice, delivering that authentic kick without being overpowering.

My only minor critique, when comparing them to some other local spots, is that the filling does feel a bit less in quantity. However, this is easily overlooked when you consider the overall quality.

What truly surprised me was that I had just returned from a trip to Jamaica, and honestly, Gerry's patties were so much better! Go figure! They truly nail the flavor profile and texture.

Well done, Gerry's Fine Foods! Your patties are a must-try.

The food is disgusting, and there is nothing Jamaican about.

Gerrys is my new favorite spot I tried the curry goat and white rice with coleslaw and 2 slice of rum cake. He also gave me a sample of the potato pudding and let me tell you one word, AMAZING!

Ate there at least once a week through most of the 90s. Went back recently, as I'm close to the neighbourhood again. Just like I remembered it. True comfort food.

Gerry’s is one of my favourite spots in the city- it never disappoints!

The only thing that prevents a 5th star is the decor and styrofoam containers. Really good ( with a bit of a burn!) jerk chicken and pork, oxtail , and if you are lucky, stew pork. This is a family business started by Gerry Wong who is now retired. His son Donavan runs the show now and does so with love.

Got the curry goat for takeout with rice and beans and coleslaw. Staff was friendly, and the goat was very tasty and hearty. Serving size was great. I felt like the goat could have been braised just a touch longer (just two pieces were a little tough for my liking), but that's just picking nits. It won't stop me from coming back, which I plan to do regularly.

EVERYTHING is incredibly great tasting prepared fresh by generations of family members.
We now live out of town so every time we go near Toronto, it's a must go to place. My wife and I have been loyal customers since we were very young (now retired), and the quality has always and is still the very best. We may only see them 2-3 times per year but we are greeted like family. The family even came to our town to visit and brought their famous fish cakes. They no longer make them and we miss them.
LOVE THIS PLACE!

Gerrys is the spot. I first went there maybe 20 years ago. It was way after close. The owner was out front and I started talking with him. He went in, opened up and fixed me a plate. Every time I go to Toronto, it is the first place I go. Big up Donavon. Always filled my belly and treated me like fam. I wish all businesses ran like this. I am super loyal to them. I no longer live in Toronto, but I always recommend them to anyone I know there. Thanks for being you guys. Best stew chicken around.
