This was my second visit to Gil’s Fish & Chipperie at the Eaton Centre. I came on Thursday afternoon at 3.30pm. I ordered the half portion of fish and chips, and once again it didn’t disappoint.
The fish was crispy outside and flaky inside, with hot, well-seasoned fries — a satisfying portion that felt just right. I also want to give a shout-out to the cashier girl, who was friendly and welcoming, making the quick stop even more pleasant.
A solid, reliable option when you want comforting food and good service in a busy food-hall setting.

my interaction with the server ( Asian women with glasses) was very demeaning and hurtful. I approached her with a question and her reply was extremely disrespectful and rude as she proceeded to hand signal shooing me off. I left feeling very hurt and unsatisfied with the customer service I received. I recommend the workers treat potential customers as human beings rather than animals. Will never be ordering from here and will spread the word.

This probably the worst sandwich. Fish greasy and tasteless, bread old and crumbly, cold food and burned fries. Should have checked the reviews before.

Fish and chips was nice though a bit pricy… Still gave 5 starts because service was nice. A little expensive for one piece of fish and fries , maybe a little more sauce?

Even at 20% off on a Wednesday a full sized fish and chips wasn’t worth it imo
I suggest the following:
1. Get better fish
2. Get larger fish
I gave 2 stars for the fries and the dip. Service is fine though the people working there are sweet.

Friendly service! The fish and chips are amazing! Best fish I’ve had and the dill tartar sauce I can’t get enough of! :)

I’d skip this if you’re considering it. I’ve tried out two of the food options in this pricier food court of the Eaton Centre and none of them are that good, in fact, both were worse than the regular food court.
For Gil’s, the fish was fresh enough and nicely flaky, but the batter was bland, and the fries were tasteless and boring as well.
Service was good, but for fish and chips and can of soda it was $24. In a food court. Not worth it

Negative breading. Negative seasoning on the fries. Ridiculously overpriced for both portion and quality.

Fish Sandwich had literally no fish. I was there on weekend and confronting the representative, he was like this is how it is and they planned to sell that. He immediately offered me a refund too though. I work in the building above and realized most of the restaurants in new food hall is offering expensive (about $20), less quantity and slightly above average food.

$14 for half a piece of fish in a Crispy Fishwhich. Filled half the bun, the rest was just coleslaw piled in. Overpriced for not a lot of value.

I do not understand the negative reviews. We ordered the fish and chips and fish sandwich, both were spectacular! Batter is so crispy and fish is fresh and not “fishy” at all. Fries on point too .. looking forward to eating there again!!

Gil's Fish and Chipperie was very average. I expected a lot because of the simple and focused menu. Maybe I set the bar too high. For $20 I expected more fish and more flavour. The fries were average and tasted like run of the mill frozen fries. The food court was nice and clean, and I was in the good company of my sisterfriend, so that made up for what the food lacked.

Overpriced. $20 for only 1 small piece of haddock. Fries are average at best. Their tartare is just not good.

I recently tried the haddock fish and chips from Gils Eaton centre store at the queen cross.
Overall it is a satisfying fish and chips meal, with fresh haddock and a crispy batter. A little refinement in the batter thickness and chip texture would have made it perfect. Ive been to here two or three times and Id definitely order it again if I have time next week.
