Without asking a single question or attempting to know why you're there, the owner will speak to you like you're not aware of your own health journey or that you could possibly know your own needs. Will condescendingly shirk at any collaboration with western medical practitioners. Utterly alienating to any first (and last) time customer. Caveat emptor.

Very friendly and excellent customer service. They have all the brands of health products which is hard to come by. The staff really take the time to provide a lot of info and knowledge if you come in asking for help with a certain ailment. Donna was wonderful and helpful and not pushy about selling products. Will definitely be back for my health products/supplements.

UPDATE Sunday AUG 31, 9:40 Am: I have updated the review from ONE star, to THREE (3) Stars because the very kind owners have written an apology to me, & I know the owners are good people...I realized later, that though I began shopping more than 25 years ago at Gingko Biloba health store, to seek ideas for Parkinson's disease that could assist my father, that due to the fact that my father passed Nov 10 2002, and that another health food store opened up right near the bottom of the escalator at Cumberland terrace so it was first when I descended to go grocery shopping-I had not purchased from Gingko Biloba directly possibly in the time this manager had been working-not sure...I am pretty sure that prior to the weird and hostile interaction event with said stranger/manager, I had sampled some good green juice from juice cups as I returned in that hallway and interacted with those humans who were giving free samples...I am still shocked by the manager's hostile and weird behaviour and comments to me in person that day which included the admonition to 'never shop here'...As if I would ever shop again in a store that decided to call security on me as if I was a common thief or otherwise criminal...Unfortunate, because my favourite places to go are health food stores...best wishes to the owners...So sad that people who do not have a financial stake in a business can ruin a business...I walked by the other day as I do very often to get to that grocery store, and she was alone as usual, and how uncomfortable to have to walk by someone who told you never to shop in that store again...My reputation on a personal level is unscathed regarding my niceness to others and neighbours and shops, so I think that an evaluation of how an employee interacts when nobody else is supervising should be in order...Standing in front of a laptop computer at the front desk, doing red tape type accounting work, rather than prioritizing customer service, is not typical managerial style...The lack of customers present on that Sunday says to me, that the employee is just doing inventory accounting work, rather than actively working with humans...The owners actively engage humans, which is why I was a customer...
The "manager" who was working today Sunday, and has been there 7 years, had no idea who I was, apparently, though I started shopping there 27 years ago, about, when my husband & I moved to Rosedale South... So she decided to call security on me! Which was hilarious because she was so unbelievably rude, aggressive, physically and verbally weird and harassing, that I decided to videotape her- and have a nice video now which I am able to share with police, security guards, and of course the owners... For now one star... Let's see if an owner decides to apologize? Oh, my husband was walking with a walker with me to the grocery store, when I decided to drop in for a quick visit and maybe see if there was a cold drink available in their fridge today- since it has been so hot....

Lilla and Frances are so knowledgeable and have supported the health of me and my family for many years. This store always gives off a positive and healing vibe so I enjoy coming here. Ginkgo is a great health food store, with a diverse selection of products. They've been around a long time, and they maintain a cozy and relaxed environment. Excellent service, and all of the staff here are lovely to talk to. We need more local health food stores like this!

They always make me feel good before I check out. The store is conveniently next to Holt Renfrew and ship to my home too. Shop small and local!!!!
