I spent my birthday with my wife. We were truly impressed by the wonderful food, the excellent beer, the atmosphere, and above all, the warm and hospitable service. We would love to celebrate my birthday here every year. We look forward to coming back again.
Totally surprising, never been there before and when we arrived, we didn't expect much because it didn't look like a typical pub. But, it filled up fast, the drinks flowed, the food came out, then the music and we had a great time. The Robbie Burns meal was fantastic - the hearty barley soup was a meal into itself - followed by beef, neeps, haggis and potatoes - a huge plate - and it was so good, I never thought neeps could be so delicious. We took a break and watched the fine bagpiper and drummer and finished with a lovely trifle. We were so stuffed we had to be rolled out of there! Finally, I can't say enough good things about our server. She was so attentive and friendly, she made our visit the best..
While looking for a new place to take my hubby for his birthday, I found the GLB Brewpub. It's steps from the St Lawrence Market, Sugar Beach, and frequent TTC service. We strolled over from Union Station on the cold wintery day and were warmly greeted as soon as we stepped inside. Anyone who enjoys visiting a brewery would appreciate the malty-yeasty scents. (If that's not you, I recommend visiting in the summer when they have their patio set up in the funky courtyard outside the front doors.) GLB Brewpub has big windows for outer walls, music is played at a low volume, and the seating is comfortable. (It's not cold and industrial.) The bar is inviting, with a full list of taps (10+!) and a large TV screen. Otherwise, you can tell they've created a place for people to gather, converse, all while enjoying excellent food and drink. Speaking of the latter, I have intolerances and our thoughtful server provided a VERY thorough document of every single allergen in their menu items. I easily selected my meal, making one minor modification, which the kitchen happily did for me. Flights of beer came in threes. The food was fresh and very tasty. And, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert for hubby's birthday! Our server was phenomenal and we're looking forward to returning again and again.
Food was delicious. Smash burgers. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend and come back.
The food is superb - the tacos, wings and burgers were really great. Excellent beer selection and really nice, warm, friendly service. We went to watch the Leafs game, and will definitely go again. They were very attentive, yet let us linger to finish the game. Such a great little place.
We came as a large group for a work dinner. Service was great, food was delicious, prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was great. Everyone in our group had a great time. Thank you!
For the Hoe Down event, band and beer were great. Food was fine. The band was really loud, making it hard to talk while they were playing. For a bar, that would be okay but not a restaurant. In an ideal world, it would have been great to have a Hoe Down lesson.
Went to watch the Blue Jays ALCS Game 7 and it was the perfect place to watch! There was a good amount of seating, and the staff is excellent! It filled up as the game went on and there was a nice game-day atmosphere. The beer is amazing, but even better is the food! The chicken liver pate was absolutely amazing and I guess it's a regular thing for people to get because after we had ours we saw lots of other tables getting it! Great french fries and the warmed olives were a great snack as well. The 3.2% Superlite and 3.7% Mild were both awesome, as were the boozier beers we had in a flight. This was our second time going and we'll be back :)
Really enjoyed our dinner here. Food, beers and service were all A+. We were four adults and six kids, including 1 baby, and kids meals were great and server very helpful with our kids chaos. Kids meals also free on Saturday nights which was a pleasant surprise! Will definitely be back again.

Bought a case of Canuck and tried to carry it home. The cheap cardboard GLB is using these days disintegrated five minutes away, all over Royal York road. Cans smashed on the pavement, etc.. Had to scramble and return home with whatever wreckage was left--carrying 24 cans without a container and a pile of broken wet cardboard along with groceries.
Called the brewery on getting home and the staff just sort of verbally shrugged, puzzled at the idea that they'd be asked to fix a problem. I tried explaining that returning that pile of wreckage wasn't tenable and the product was ruined anyway. Silence. Nobody offered to deliver a replacement to swap or talk to somebody who would actually help.
What is wrong with these people. GLB sells a generic product in an industry where service and reputation are the only thing to set you apart. And they don't care for service or reputation. They obviously want you to go elsewhere.

First night into Toronto and popped in here. Staff was very attentive, food was great, beer was greater. Had the Crispy Buffalo Chicken with truffle fries. Got some beers to go which were very cheap. Certainly more so than convenience stores (and it's great beer!)

This restaurant was "ok" - to be honest after looking at the pictures and menu - I expected a little more. No real complaints overall but I just wasn't wow'd in any way. Basic meal, service was quite good - yeah - just pretty vanilla.
