This place serves some of the most delicious rice noodles in the area. And they’re also affordable! Food in downtown Toronto under $20 in this economy is a steal so make sure you check this place out.

They don’t have a lot of seating capacity so be mindful of that.

I ordered the chicken strips (regular chicken strips, nothing crazy), pork belly rice - this wasn’t on the menu but make sure to ask your server, this wasn’t delicious. And their crispy pork tomato based noodles with an egg add-on - again, amazing. The texture of the noodles were great and the taste was perfectly balanced. Just what you need on a winter night.

FRACTURED GIRATINA

DO NOT RECOMMEND

the crispy pork that came on top of the noodle is literally cold and is the crispy in room with us? NO

then I added an extra portion of crispy pork because i was so hungry. And guess what, first piece is cold and soft, BUT the rests are freshly fried and sizzling hot lmao does that mean I was just served with left over cold fried pork or what

Soup is not spicy at all and doesn’t taste like spicy pickles. And it gets really bland after the refill

at least the unlimited noodles was legit but $25 for this? Solid no. CAPITALISED NO

at this point just go to McDonald it’s literally next door

Solid rice noodle soup spot. We tried the crispy pork tomato and crispy pork spicy pickled veg noodles, and the braided pork sandwich. Good flavours and portion size. The pork bun didn't have a lot of braise flavours but the bun was crispy.

GunGun Rice Noodle is a cute, cozy restaurant with a simple and budget-friendly menu. We tried the following menu items:

Spicy Golden Beef Rice Noodles (4/5) had a tangy flavour which complemented the spices in this dish. The noodles were my favourite part with its chewy and bouncy texture. It had thinly sliced beef and some bok choy. The broth could’ve been a tad bit tangier and spicier but that’s just a personal preference of mine.

Braised Pork Belly Bun (5/5) was delicious. The pork belly was savoury and flavourful. The bun itself was crispy and flaky. I recommend getting this if you’ve never had it before.

Beef Tripe with Sesame Sauce (5/5) was chewy. It was paired with the sesame sauce that was both creamy and nutty. I really enjoyed the overall texture and flavour of this dish.

The server was friendly. Their tables had a QR code to scan for their menu. They also offer free refills on noodles.

(I had already eaten the beef and a couple other items when this photo was taken) delicious flavorful soup base! Get the golden soup beef. I love the extra garlic. Reasonable portion at a good price too

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Signature Spicy Pickle & Spicy Sesame . beautiful, delicious battle between rice noodles and tofu noodles, served with a generous dollop of that savory minced meat and greens. Everyone's a winner here. Must try for noodle lovers!

Nice piping hot soup!
The crispy pork tomato noodle was good, not too spicy but I can taste a slight element of mala peppercorn in the fried crispy pork. It was very crispy and flavorful. The soup was not too tangy or sour. Easily can finish the entire bowl. Be warned though.. you need to be careful because that handle is hot!

The original chicken broth w ground pork was nice. Very light and I liked how they make their own broth. It’s not too salty although the pork itself was seasoned well. Good portions with lots of rice noodles for $13.99 I can see how this can be attractive for those looking for budget eats!

Pork belly rice was just meh at first. Lots of rice. But the best bite is if you take a scoop of rice, green onion, pork belly, and soup that collects at the bottom. It really needs the soup and sauce to tie it all together. It comes w extra spicy sauce (if you can handle it). Good deal for $9.99 a bowl.

I liked how each bowl had a good balance of meat, veggie and lots of noodle or rice so it’s quite filling. There are about 8 tables so it’s not huge but it wasn’t busy either at 8pm. Service is quite fast and courteous. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quick and budget friendly meal!

Delicious. Just look at it. I had tomato and crispy pork and it was super garlic forward and flavorful with a hint of the numbing szechuan peppercorn spice.

If I was on death row and asked what I wanted for my final meal, I would request the original chicken noodles at GunGun Rice Noodle. I love this dish! Thank you, GunGun - you never disappoint!
