Truly the best izakaya in Toronto. Every dish was amazing and exploded in flavour. Excellent portion size for price. The miso ice cream is life changing—would go back just for that. Great drinks, great music, great vibes.

Hands down my favorite place in Toronto. Amazing staff, delicious food, and the best cocktail in town.

Charming Izakaya spot with beautiful dishes served. You must get the Moto Eggs and Dyno Wings, 10/10 so so good. I wish there were more salmon in the Salmon Aburi especially towards the bottom of the roll, but other than that, it was really good, and beautifully served by the way. The moto bun is quite good but could be better - a crispy chicken paired with the curry sauce would complement the soft bun. The service was really good and the server we had was very friendly. Overall a really great experience and would recommend.

Been there multiple times. Probably the best aburi salmon I ever had. Different in structure but amazingly testy.

Erin was a amazing server. We waited two year to come here and came from Germany to try the food and atmosphere. Worth it! Thanks for the amazing night.

Went with a large group and we tried everything except the buns.

Everything was good. They don’t take reservations, so be prepared to get there before they open, or be prepared to wait.

Sapporo on tap, including a dark version that is lovely. It’s like Guinness stout and Sapporo made a baby. Not nearly as heavy to drink as a Guinness.

I can’t wait to go again. I don’t want to recommend this place to a lot of people because it’ll just make it busier. It’s that good.

Warning: It is very warm inside, so going on a hot summer day is not ideal.

We had a lovely time at Hanmoto, the staff were very friendly and the food was on point. A really nice place for a date night. One of the few places that has Sapporo black(can’t remember if it was on top) which is amazing if you like dark lagers.

Great cocktails and the miso ice cream is one of the best ice creams I have had in a while. The environment is cozy and can be a bit loud. Food is tastier than many of the izakayas we’ve tried. Solid 5/5

Amazing fast and friendly service. We had oysters, Dino wings, moto eggs, the salmon aburi, and the Japanese curry bun accompanied with some sake and Sapporos. Everything was fantastic. My only fault was that it was pretty hot and stuffy inside but kinda added to the vibe. This is the kind of place I’m excited to come back to and show off to friends.

This is such a hidden gem in Toronto for Japanese izakaya-style tapas and drinks. The vibe is super cool, and the food is creative and delicious. The space is small, so be prepared for a bit of a wait—but it’s totally worth it!
