Was looking for dessert after dinner and came by this cute little spot! We got red bean, custard and milk buns along with a caramel pudding. Honestly was a satisfying small bite and I really my red bean along with how fluffy the bread was. The caramel pudding came out a little too watery but tasted good. It's a small place with only 4 seats/standing areas but overall it was a like a little light snack and staff was nice. Thought it was also pretty creative to have a little O-mikuji shrine/wall in there, fun touch.

Love their cream buns (all flavours are bomb) and their egg salad croquette sandwich is perfect

The buns were pretty good. The ingredients seem geniune and shortcuts seems minimal but pre-wrapped items tend to get a bit soggy.

The Asian male staff who worked at 5:20pm o. February 4, 2026 was extremely rude. He rolled his eyes on me and gave me such an attitude when I asked a simple question!! This is literally the worse customer service encounter I've ever had in my entire life. Don't work here if you don't want to!! Not coming back here!

おいしかった❗Really yummy cream bun! It is what you expect from Japanese sweets. I will definitely stop by again when I visit Toronto. The customer service was nice too. The man was polite and friendly.

Omg the cream buns from here were amazing! The pastry is soo light and fluffy and the filling is very creamy and flavorful. Honestly wish I had bought more. Will definitely be getting more to bring home next time. They have some really good and unique drink options as well. The houjicha black sesame latte that I had was also very good.

Their cream buns are to die for. I've tried many of the flavours and they've yet to disappoint me.

The custard and milk filling is insanely good. Bread itself is okay but I'm not complaining. I wish Hattendo opens a store in NYC.

We love this place, we’ve visited the store before, but most of the time we order through UberEats. Lately, though, it’s been a bit tricky with the inventory system. Orders sometimes get cancelled or adjusted because certain items turn out to be unavailable, even when we order earlier in the day. At this point, only about one out of four orders goes through smoothly, so it almost feels like winning the lottery! If possible, please look into improving the inventory sync with UberEats; it would really make the experience better.

I also want to thank the staff who handled our October 11 order around 1 p.m. We received almost all the items we wanted, the refund process (handled by UberEats) went smoothly, and most importantly, you showed that you genuinely cared when you tried to reach out to us again after we missed the first call, which really stood out and meant a lot. Thank you for going the extra mile!

This little shop is so cute and of course their desserts are very good. I literally want cream buns and matcha latte everyday.

Extremely poor customer service. The male staff working on Saturday, Aug 23 around 7:30pm had a very unprofessional attitude. While we were deciding on cream buns, he abruptly walked away, put up a “Back in 10 minutes” sign, and went to the kitchen, even though there were multiple customers (three separate groups) clearly waiting to be served. From where I stood, I saw him in the back packaging jams, fully aware people were still waiting.

When he finally returned, instead of acknowledging or helping customers right away, he continued prioritizing putting away jars under the counter, all while giving off an unfriendly demeanor. He never apologized or thanked anyone for their patience. The lack of courtesy and disregard for customers was shocking.

I would never return here nor recommend this place to anyone. There was no mention of loyalty or appreciation for customers whatsoever.

I’ve noticed many negative reviews about this place, and almost all point to the same issue: poor customer service from a male staff member (likely the same person based on the descriptions). Since nothing seems to have changed despite repeated complaints, it feels like this place truly does deserve a 1-star review.

Japanese cream buns are fresh and close to flavours back in Japan. Little dine in space, recommended for anyone need a quick grab.

It’s loaded with cream, the portion is small, and the price is high.
It doesn’t feel like a healthy bakery at all.
