I frequent this place for my favourite buns! Best to go in the morning as it is the freshest batch. However they do re stock and bake throughout out the day, until they’re out of items.
I love going here as it feels like a cultural preservation, especially as Toronto’s Chinatown is directing into further gentrification.
There’s seating areas where old folks are having their hot drink and chatting. Its relatively busy, but it’s manageable. The key is to continue moving and aim for your favourite bread first.
Breads are delicious, they offer hot foods as well that are equally good. My favourite bread are as follows: curry buns, bun with pork floss, custard with and w/o coconut flakes, cheese bread and mochi croissant.
This is a CASH ONLY establishment. Nearby banks are available though you cannot access ATMS on Sundays if the teller machine is inside. The restaurant has their own machine but you may be subjected to fees.

Very strange place. Costumer service was one of the worst I’ve experienced in a while. Didn’t even greet me back after i said hi just stood there and started at me as if i was an alien. They only take cash but no working atm machine in sight. Kept staring at me the whole time i was picking up pastries as if i would stuff them in my pocket?? Very strange.

The only good thing here is the pineapple buns.. look at my pathetic rice.. ($8). It really is just rice.
Cashier also always miscalculates and gives wrong change.

I absolutely loved the pastries. It tastes exactly how I remember it from years ago. 😋 The ambiance is that of a traditional Hong Kong bakery and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was well versed in English and Cantonese. My family and I felt very comfortable there and I have not seen my great grandmother speak so much as she did there. She was chatting with the manager and cashier and we are planning our trip back there again.

Didn’t accept card or e-transfer — only cash. I had to go to the bank to get it.
Ordered cake, but they said they had no knife.
Salesperson was very rude.
Worst of all, no receipt was given.
Find my way, The air conditioner did not work properly, and it was very hot inside.

Cash only and 1:1 ratios. US and Canadian dollars. Bad

Not my favorite bakery cafe, but they ok, came here for a quick coffee meet with a friend when visiting Toronto who likes their quick service for 腸粉 steamed rice roll options in Chinatown.
Unfortunately, the service is still disappointing for a self-serve establishment.
😅 it's the only place that after years requesting cash payment they charge tax even if you buy six food items, I didn't get anything during this visit, but overheard a customer, but they do serve cheap eats like fresh buns starting at $0.75 for some items and other bakery items.

Good place to have a snack or a drink . Not much parking available outside . If you are into domains - you can even work from here , for the ambience is quiet and calm . This place is also not expensive when compared with others of same category

This is not my favorite Chinese bakery but they are still pretty good. Their bun selection has improved recently with new offerings and it seems the quality is up a little from previous memories.
They offer hot food in addition to just buns which is sold at a good price.
I ask excited to try a few more of the new buns, in particular the ham and egg burger even though it is pricier than others, ham and egg bun.
