Good coffee but bad services for the price. Sandwiches are served cold (was told it is supposed to be eaten like that; didn't like it). Not great for long sitting as the seats doesn't have a back. Coffee quantity was also very less.

Great coffee in downtown. The chocolate cake, banana vegan cake and granola are my go to. The owner is very friendly. Highly recommend a stop there.
I absolutely LOVE this place! I recently started a new job in the area and I discovered Hot Black Coffee. You’re greeted immediately with a good morning & hello, the food is delicious (I recommend the beet chocolate loaf and egg toast) and the vibe is warm, cozy and clean! We used to go to hot black coffee on our weekends when they were in Bloor West village. But since they've left, we've definitely missed them. The staff and owner are awesome and friendly.
The coffee is consistently amazing. I recently tried their egg and cheese on sourdough sandwich and it was great. The awesome thing is that all the ingredients are sourced locally (from Ontario farmers) and the bread is made in house!
10/10 recommend this cafe.
