My 1st visit to the new, permanent location of Hugh's Room. The building is a former smallish church & had a balcony with pews (which we loved) as well as main floor seats. No reserved seats at our performance, first come, first served. Not only great acoustiscs, but perfect line of vision from up there in the balcony. A casual, yet professional atmosphere, where the artists seem highly regarded by staff & audience members. Quite a novel experience - enjoyed soo much!...
It was with great pleasure that I attended the Bill Frisell Trio at Hugh’s Room as part the Toronto Jazz Festival. I often went to their original location but this was my first time at this one and I’ll be back. They host quite a variety of musical styles with an emphasis on local talent. It’s located in a former church which has been converted. The sound is excellent and the there doesn’t seem to be a bad seat in the house. The bar is well stocked with several local craft...
