I often do not review the store however, I couldn't stop myself when I checked in this place. I ordered green goodness bowl with salmon, which I paid around 25 bucks including tax. Price seems a little high as compared to other places but I am investing on myself as they provide fresh organic food. A great place for healthy options. Highly recommend it

⚠️ OVERCHARGING SALES TAX TO CUSTOMERS
For purposes of sales tax applied at checkout, coffee beans are zero-rated (essentially a non-taxable grocery food item) and therefore NOT subject to any sales tax whatsoever in Ontario. Yet, despite advising IK of this several months ago all of the locations I visited since continue to illegally ('illegally' because they have been made aware), charge 13% tax on this and other items. They are also illegally charging 13% tax on prepared beverages ie coffee, espresso etc under $4 which are subject to only 5% tax. After I was wrongfully over-charged for an espresso on October 15, 2025 I brought it to the attention of the store manager (Shon) at the 1222 Yonge location who said he would look into it and email me back. He never did. I tried reaching out someone from corporate by phone but that's essentially impossible. So, I left a message on their website. Five days later an unnamed individual from corporate replied, thanking me and stating that they would be clarifying this with their accounting dept., and be getting back to me. They have not replied since and to date are still illegally overtaxing for these and other items. I recently replied with a follow-up email but have received no response. Going public now 😡
This is a common occurrence with many vendors (the major chains, Starbuck, Tims, McDonalds etc., typically tax correctly), that sell prepared beverages, snacks individually under $4. So be informed.
Lesson: if you purchase two coffees at $4 each as a single transaction you will pay $9.04 (coffees $8, tax $1.04 = $9.04). However, if you purchase each coffee separately (and the vendor is taxing lawfully), you will pay $8.40 (coffees $8, tax $.40) a difference of $.64 - for simply buying each coffee separately! That basically equates to one free coffee for less than seven purchased. No rewards program comes close to that. And your proprietary reward accumulation will still progress unaffected.
For coffee beans and many other items there is no tax so it's easy. There are numerous other tax loopholes so check google for tax free food items in Ontario/Canada. For example...
salted/seasoned nuts - 13% tax unsalted/unseasoned nuts - 0% tax!
Happy shopping 🧐
From google...
In Canada, coffee beans are typically zero-rated, meaning they are not subject to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) when sold as basic groceries. This applies to both whole and ground coffee beans purchased at grocery stores.
In Ontario, qualifying prepared drinks and food costing $4 or less (excluding carbonated beverages), are subject to only the 5% federal portion of the HST. A point-of-sale rebate is applied to the 8% provincial portion of the HST, meaning you effectively pay a 5% tax rate on these items.

Tried the Green Goodness Bowl today and it was exactly what I needed — fresh greens, creamy avocado, and perfectly seasoned toppings. Light but filling. I learned it was prepared by Chef Bibek, and the quality really showed.
