1st visit after reading about the place, and dis not disappoint. The owner was super kind remembering my face from a week ago I walked in without reservation. The food was amazing. Delicious salad and fried and a perfectly cooked steak. Our server Grace was super attentive, personable, and helpful.if you’re craving for a great steak, this is hands down the place!!

Had the steak course at J’s Steak Frites and it was absolutely amazing! 🥩 The steak was cooked perfectly — juicy and tender — but the sauce was the real highlight, rich and full of flavor. They even offered unlimited fries, which were super crispy and addictive 🍟 The blueberry cake for dessert was soft, fresh, and such a satisfying finish 🍰 Even the salad greens were fresh and vibrant.
Overall, everything from start to finish was perfect — definitely one of my top steak spots in Toronto!

Beyond disappointed, we came for a family dinner. We live downtown, know food, are lucky enough to go to great spots but this was not one. When I first walked in and was seated by the bathroom stairs I could smell the toilets. The wine was brought really cold and they did replace the glass. The steak, the reason we came was tough had gristle, it was ok only ok for a $300 meal that only had one drink the rest water no desert. I’m happy to pay for lovely food lovely vibe but we were missing both of those things. I do not recommend this place at all.my parter and I felt badly and tried to make each other feel it was fine. We don’t want to tell servers this steak is tough chewing it made my gums tender. Like that’s not what you want.

Steak was super mediocre, not Rich and relatively dry and unseasoned. Without sauce was very lame. Fries are good. Server was super not friendly haha . Asian lady who was helping was nice tho.
Definitely lots of better places to go to for steak frites. Try la barstain , maison T or clandestino. All a lot better and real OG restaurants not some chain vibe corporate stale restaurant with cover songs done horribly playing non stop haha. But honestly if u like unlimited fries and very generic tunes and good sauce you will love it.

The steak is perfect while the salad was quite unremarkable. However, i’m not usually a big fan of fries but there is something about them that makes you wanna eat 3 plate fulls.

Wow!! I can’t say enough good things! My husband and I could not stop “mmm’ing” with every bite. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the fries were absolutely delicious. The unlimited fries option makes the whole experience even more fun. Grace, our server, was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made the night even better. We can’t wait to come back!

We had an amazing evening dining at J's. The hospitality was exceptional and the 10oz steak was heavenly.
We enjoyed our meal outdoors at the front of the restaurant - my only concern was the size of tables, they were a bit too small - particularly for my 5'9 boyfriend. Aside from that, we loved every minute of our experience - the service was excellent. I would definitely go back.
