For our group of five, we started with Crudo ($28), Wagyu Carpaccio ($29), and Lobster Miso Soup ($8). For the main course, we opted for the Sashimi platter with 42 pieces ($155), Ebi Oshizushi ($19), Wagyu Oshizushi ($26), Jabistroll ($24), and Aburicious ($29), along with a few à la carte sushi options: Chu-Toro ($22), Hotate ($14), and Uni ($34). Beautiful ambiance, outstanding nigiri, and some of the best aburi in Toronto.
I came to Ja Bistro for dinner and missed the tasting menu by a few minutes, so I went with the Nama (seven-piece classic nigiri), the Aburi assortment, and the lobster miso soup. Even though the soup only had one small lobster piece, the broth was incredibly rich and flavourful — a really comforting start.
The Nama nigiri was easily the highlight of the night....
