The best part of the meal was the bread served before the main course. It had a crispy crust and was warm and soft inside. However, there was a pudding-like layer at the bottom, probably because the dough didn't rise properly. It would have been even better with black truffle butter for added flavour. Anyway, I still ordered another one before the main course. The second one was perfect.

And then, I would recommend the aged American steak had a pretty dense appearance, with a deep mahogany-brown crust on the outside and a red centre from edge to edge inside. Still, it was just a little off, with a hint of bitterness on the outside. The overall texture was chewy, but the medium-rare doneness was just alright. The American beef flavour wasn't overly rich, but it was still tasty overall.

The beef tartare was a good-sized portion. The meat pieces were relatively large, and you could tell they were fresh. However, the seasoning was somewhat light, highlighting the quality of the beef.

Wagyu Fried Rice was a disappointment. It was neither dry nor fragrant. It didn't taste as good as Black+Blue’s. But my boyfriend said that when he came here two months ago, it was delicious. Maybe it was just today.

The restaurant's interior is old-fashioned and not particularly fancy. The service is inconsistent and hard to judge. They do offer basic friendly service and coat check. However, the waiter serving our table was just okay. When it was time to pay, we noticed the bill listed 'Ontario steak,' but we had ordered the American one. He didn't mention the mistake earlier. It was only when we were checking out that he kept insisting it was just a billing error, and the steak we had was indeed American, with the same price. Since it was our date night, we decided not to make a fuss.

Later, my boyfriend remembered that the server had mentioned 'Ontario steak' before serving. Honestly, it doesn't matter much which country's steak we had - we just wanted a normal dinner. Still, it was disappointing that such a well-known, longstanding restaurant made such a mistake.

Beautiful decor and vibes. Their bread and side dishes were very good and worth going back for. The steak is high quality and well cooked. Service very friendly and helpful.

Giving this place 4 stars because the service is exceptional but I was disappointed by the food. The only actually “good” thing here is the steak, which I guess is what people come for, but you’d at least expect the appetizers and sides to be decent.
The carpaccio was flavourless, the tuna tartare was decent but the strips of nori was too small to hold the tuna (fish was dry aged perfectly though), the snow pea leaves and duck fat fries was bland, even for a side. I really enjoyed the free coffee cake though lol. The cheese popovers didn’t taste like much even with the herbed butter.
After having been to Hy’s, Barbarians, Harbour 60, and Butcher Chef recently, this is probably lowest on my list of nicer steak places.

The Ceasar salad by the table was amazing! Ceasar Bae held it down. Unfortunately our group was asked to move to the bar area as another group was coming which was odd. Steak was ok, I've had better for the price.

My experience at Jacob’s & Co. Steakhouse was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The quality of the food was outstanding — perfectly prepared and beautifully presented.

What made the evening even more special was the incredible service. Sandra, Mohit and Philip were warm, and made me feel genuinely welcomed. Ryan and Nicole were gracious and attentive throughout the night.

The entire team worked together flawlessly and made me feel valued and cared for.

Jacob’s is truly one of Toronto’s finest restaurants. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon.

Jacob & Co Steakhouse Toronto delivers the kind of polished, high-end steakhouse experience that truly feels worthy of a special night out. From the moment you arrive, the space strikes that perfect balance of grand and energetic while still feeling refined, and the service immediately sets the tone. Every member of staff was warm, attentive, and highly professional, creating an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and genuinely welcoming rather than overly formal.

The meal itself was excellent from start to finish. The tuna tartare was a standout opener, it is exceptionally fresh, beautifully seasoned, and plated with real precision. The mashed potatoes deserve special mention as well: incredibly smooth, rich without being heavy, and exactly the kind of indulgent steakhouse side you hope for. The steak program is clearly the centerpiece here, with an impressive selection of high-quality cuts cooked perfectly to temperature, each with a deep, well-developed crust and outstanding flavour.

Dessert was just as memorable and provided a fantastic close to the evening, thoughtfully executed and properly celebratory rather than an afterthought. What ultimately elevates Jacob & Co is the consistency of the entire experience; the pacing, the hospitality, the confidence of the kitchen, and the sense that every detail is intentionally curated for a true luxury dining night.

If you’re looking for one of Toronto’s definitive upscale steakhouse experiences for a celebration, client dinner, or simply an exceptional evening out, Jacob & Co absolutely belongs at the top of the list. A genuine five-star experience and somewhere I will return to without hesitation.

The best selection of steaks in Toronto (and likely beyond). However - all ingredients are of the highest quality and prepared to exceptionally high standards. Tremendous atmosphere- great for a drink or a night out to impress. I love this place (and the team).

Been to the old location many times and was a fan. First time at the new location and was not impressed. Steaks were average, very dry and food took forever to come out, roughly an hour and 15 mins. Sides were mediocre and Cesar salad was soggy. Definitely not worth the price of the place, I much prefer Ruth Chris. Also very hard to carry a conversation, too much noise from other tables.

Ambiance is great, aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Not impressed. I go to Michelin stars all the time and this is just average I’m sorry. Don’t understand the hype.
