This place is great. Favourites are chicken schnitzel sandwich, pierogis and borscht. The baked goods like plum cake and donuts are pretty good too. The staff are super friendly and welcoming even when I showed up right as they were closing

I went to Janchenko today specifically to get a piece of the doboš cake after my sister sent me a photo of how beautiful the caramel topping was. Imagine my surprise when I got home and opened the box and saw that my piece had almost no caramel topping. The person serving me must have given me the worst piece. I’m so disappointed! Worst of all, this small piece cost more than $6! What a rip off! Warning to other who like good quality European cakes - don’t bother with this place - you’ll be gouged!

The older weekend server was unbelievably rude and dismissive. Her attitude alone was enough to ruin the entire experience. If this is the level of service you tolerate, don’t expect repeat customers—because I’m definitely never coming back.
