Food was bad, tasted like days old food. The bun was stale. The sausage was small and not juicy at all.
Thought Japanese hotdog was a pretty cool idea. Should have checked the reviews before walking in
False advertisement for their $2 hotdog bluejays special at their yonge location in Toronto.
Experience was fine, food wasn’t. Way over priced. Remember people, Costco hotdogs cost $1.50 and they taste better 🤷🏼♀️

The haters are wrong. This place is great and the hot dogs were delicious. Much better than a lot of the hot dog restaurants in the city

I have to be honest. This place disappointed me...
The concept of a Japanese styles hotdog seemed very appealing but when I tried my dog it just tasted like any old street meat... And I just kept thinking I was better off going to a corner street meat stand than spending more on this.

Visiting from out of town and saw this while walking the street. My husband and I shared the 20in 20th anniversary new face hotdog. We loved it, my fave part was the all beef teriyaki tartar and hubs like the waygu and spicy cheese. Also had the shichimi and garlic fries- couldn’t really taste the garlic part but you get that little heat kick from the shichimi, it was still good to offset the taste from the hotdog. For dessert we shared the match tiramisu- I love desserts so I maybe biased to it but it was so delicious- not too sweet.

Curiousity led me to check this place out with a friend. You can order face to face or order via an order kiosk.
The dog i ordered was okay, not spectacular in taste or appearance. The fries i ordered tasted what imagined it would taste, considering the condiments they added to them.
Its worth a try just to see how it tastes- amother customer may react totally different from my reaction !
I will not be returning any time soon...dont misunderstood my decision. Their take on a hotdog isnt my thing,...their food, service and atmosphere ate okay.

I was amazed by the wide variety of menu items. Everything looked unique and appealing, so it took me some time to decide. It might be a good idea to check the menu in advance. You can order either directly from the staff or through the self-service machine inside.
We ordered the Kurobuta Terimayo Hot Dog, Wagyu Beef Bacon Cheese Hot Dog, Tartar Chicken Burger, and Butter & Shoyu Fries for takeout and shared them. The hot dogs were especially delicious—the sausage flavor, the grilling, and the toppings were all excellent. The chicken burger was a bit on the salty side, but the chicken itself was tender and tasty. The fries were just okay by the time we got home since they had cooled down, so I’d recommend eating them fresh and hot.
The interior was stylish and modern, with very clean tables and chairs. Since Japadog originated in Vancouver and even once expanded to New York, the walls are decorated with photos of celebrities, which was fun to look at. I used the self-ordering machine, so I didn’t talk much with the staff, but when I received my food, they handed it to me with a warm smile, which left a very good impression.
There are still many items I’d love to try, so I’ll definitely come back again!

Tried their butter shoyu shaker fries. Was too salty. Will be back to try their other flavours though

After waiting for a few months for them to open and walked by so many time after they opened, finally dined in. Had wagyu beef dogs with a yuzu drink and the karage fried chicken on the side. The wagyu was so dry it tasted like bacons, yet the fried chicken was good….overall an overpriced place to eat, given that customers paying around $12 on hotdogs, at least the meal should include a soft drink.
