I think the quality versus price ratio is pretty meh.

Fresh sushi, but tiny portion sizes left me still hungry. Not worth the price. Look elsewhere for a satisfying meal at a similar price point.

I’m SO happy that I FINALLY found a EXCELLENT Japanese restaurant in Downtown Toronto. The staff was AWESOME and very kind. And the thing that attracted me even more is that it was a sushiwoman!!!! As u can see in the pictures, the sashimi is cut thick (exactly how it’s suppose to be in a traditional Japanese restaurant) and the variety of fish is so big. If u dine in, they explain and let u know the name of each fish they are serving. I came with a friend of mine, we share all the plates and they even gave us the vongole soup (which was DELICIOUS, I’m addicted!!!)
It is kindly expensive, but NOT overpriced once they deliver EXCELLENCE in service, food and menu options.
We also divide a 750ml beer, so that’s why my bill was kinda high. But I would say generally u spend around $40~50

Super disappointed when i went to get take out yesterday just to find out the quality has gone way down since i was last here more than 6yrs ago. I posted a photo of what is shown online vs what i got - this was the premium don but all i got was 3 spoonful of sushi rice and all the ordinary sashimi pieces scattered around. They also missed my order note of no wasabi and no ginger but they also forgot to put soy sauce in my bag. This take out was $40 after taxes not including tips. Not surprised to see other similar reviews on here complaining about this restaurant “not being how it used to be anymore”. I’ll stick with the OG Oyshi Sushi instead at 12 Queens Quay W.

1. If the salmon teriyaki is burnt, pls don’t serve it anymore as carbon is a toxic substance…don’t hope that the customer doesn’t notice.
2. Price point doesn’t justify portion size, service and ambiance.
3. A little smile and “excuse me’s” go a long way…pls get rid of the curtness.

Used to be an awesome experience dining here—won’t be coming back.

Little more than a 'hole in the wall', Japango offers a distinctive and unique Japanese dining experience for a surprisingly reasonable price. The quality is superb and it's almost never busy, making it a favorite spot of mine.

Sushi and server was solid, but the atmosphere is what I appreciated the most. It’s a cozy and intimate restaurant.

Ordered take out and wow things have changed. The quality used to be amazing. But it’s been years since I’ve been here. Number 1 portions are small not enough fish. Number 2 very expensive for subpar product. Don’t eat here you will be disappointed

Not very impressed when the sea urchin turned into a cherry tomato, even though the food quality is quite good.

Once an upper/mid tier sushi restaurant but things haven’t been the same since COVID.

Quality of food and service is just average now

I've been a regular at this place for years and I must say that the service is going downhill. The servers are extremely rude and it feels like they can't be bothered to serve you. It's time to find another sushi spot downtown.
