Family dinner celebrating birthday. Friendly and attentive service. Food came out timely and delicious. Had the Salmon Tartare, Escargot, Steak Frites, Cotes du Boeuf, Magret de Canard and finished with deserts creme brulee, crepe au citron, 2 apple tarts and a lemon tart.

Cute and cozy French bistro on Queen St East. We ordered their Côte de Boeuf for 2 which came with fries and salad. Since we came on a Tuesday night, we were able to get it for half the price. We also ordered extra side fries and for dessert we ordered Crème Brûlée and their Tartes du Jour (the blueberry one). Everything we ordered was tasty and well presented. They serve skinny fries here and the extra side fries that we ordered were definitely less soggy and warmer than the ones served with the Côte de Boeuf. Service here is on point. The staff are both friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is fairly small so make reservations in advance to secure a spot. It got busy towards the end of our meal and due to the lack of seating space inside, we felt a bit rushed towards the end to settle the bill and free up our table. Aside from this, we overall had a nice experience.

I had the pleasure of dining at Jules Bistro on Queen Street East yesterday for a birthday dinner, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we sat down, the cozy ambiance and warm service set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

We started with the escargot and grilled octopus appetizers, and both dishes were exceptional. The escargot sauce, rich with mushrooms, was an absolute standout—creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Each bite was a delight. The grilled octopus was equally impressive, tender and expertly cooked, paired beautifully with mashed potatoes that were smooth, buttery, and packed with flavor.

For our main course, we shared the lamb for two, which we requested to be cooked medium, and it arrived exactly as we had asked—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The accompanying fries were incredibly addictive—crispy, crunchy, and soaked in just enough of the lamb juices to elevate every bite.

To finish, we enjoyed the crème brûlée and a sugar crêpe for dessert. The crème brûlée was perfectly caramelized on top, with a smooth and creamy custard underneath that melted in every spoonful. The sugar crêpe was light, delicate, and simply delicious—a perfect sweet ending to our meal.

Overall, it was a truly enjoyable dining experience. Jules Bistro delivered on flavor and atmosphere, and I would highly recommend it for a special night out. We’ll definitely be back!

Good restaurant to go to have great conversation. Love ambiance’s like Jules Bistro! You are not overwhelmed by useless music you can actually have meaningful conversation with the ones you go with.
The food was good and did what it had to do, the price is more than reasonable if you take the set menu, I wish we had more restaurant like this one in the city, I recommend!

It is always super busy so make your reservations before going!

The ambience was really nice. Servers were extremely friendly and provided some great recommendations starting with the appetizers to the main course and desserts, including the wine. The onion soup could have been a bit more cheesier as my friends suggested. They enjoyed the medium rare steak. The chicken was delicious along with the desserts (creme brûlée and the chocolate). Definitely recommend for a French bistro!

I ordered the onion soup, the steak frites and a crème brûlée via Uber Eats. These are three items I typically wouldn’t order for delivery but they came perfectly packaged, still warm and my steak was medium rare! Delicious! They’re real pros over at Jules!

To start off, I made the dumb mistake of making the reso at their queen west location on the restaurants busiest night.
We were initially told that the restaurant is fully booked and it was unlikely we were going to get a spot, however the manager Romain was very accommodating.
He took my number and called me 15min later to let me know they had an open table.
The food was great, half priced 24oz steak frits. Highly recommend.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Jules Bistro, which has left me with no desire to return. As a loyal customer, I’ve always enjoyed dining here, but this last experience was nothing short of unacceptable. From the start, our server’s behavior was concerning. He spent most of his time chatting with the group next to us and didn’t even check in on our table once. To make matters worse, he seated two other parties after us but proceeded to take their orders before ours, further delaying any attention to us. The unequal treatment was noticeable, and I couldn’t help but feel there was a hint of racial discrimination involved. When we finally spoke to him at the end of the meal about how neglected we felt, he simply chalked it up to a “busy night,” which was a poor excuse considering he had time to serve others promptly and give them much more attention. The food was equally disappointing. I ordered a medium rare steak, and what I received was inedible. Half of the steak was covered in silver skin and thick pieces of fat, and it was inconsistently cooked—parts were practically raw while others were overcooked and tough. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expect a much higher standard, and it felt like the kitchen didn’t even care about quality that night. Had it not been for the 50% off promotion, I would have felt completely robbed. Even with the discount, the meal was substandard, and it felt like they were serving poor-quality food on purpose for the promotion day. The service was horrible, the food was worse, and the way we were treated—followed by the dismissive excuse at the end—left us feeling completely disrespected. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and strongly urge anyone considering dining here to think twice. This is not the Jules Bistro we once knew, and it’s clear they’ve stopped valuing their customers.
