Café Daki gets its name from the Greek word kafedaki — “a small cup of coffee” — and that pretty much sets the tone.
Tucked into St. Clair West in Toronto, this tiny-but-mighty café delivers a distinctly European feel with a soft touch of Greece. The footprint is small, but the execution is thoughtful enough that nothing feels missing. It’s the kind of space that makes you reconsider what “small” can actually do.
When you walk in, there’s a charming little nook to the left — potted plants, a vintage-style table, a mirror that bounces the light just right. Cozy without trying too hard. On the opposite wall (only a few feet away), a slim row of seating (4-5) makes dine-in possible without crowding the space. Every inch feels intentional.
There’s a refrigerated retail section stocked with water, hummus, packaged drinks, and desserts. A small board highlighting local businesses adds a community touch. One of my favourite details? A bicycle mounted along the wall with a wooden plank across the top, cleverly used to hold lids, tissues, and essentials. Functional, but also very aesthetic.
The coffee program is strong. They use beans from De Mello Coffee Roasters, and the classic espresso menu is all there — plus traditional Greek coffee. (Quick tip: drink it while it’s hot; let it sit too long and the grounds rise to the top.) Alternative milk options are plenty — oat, almond, coconut, soy — and their tea selection features premium blends from Sloane Fine Tea Merchants.
The baked goods lean Greek in the best way — spanakopita and tiropita that are flaky, savoury, and genuinely satisfying. On the retail shelf, you’ll find De Mello beans alongside Greek extra virgin olive oil and thyme honey — small details that round out the story.
Café Daki proves you don’t need square footage to create atmosphere. Just intention, warmth, and a very good cup of coffee.

Amazing place to get coffee! Steve was very open to talking about espresso and the beans they use and it was overall a wondeful experience for Sunday morning!

People say hidden gem and whatnot but this is the only place I'd really miss in this area. You legit cannot get better coffee in Toronto, coffee island is probably the only one on this level. A small crew means it's always high quality and the food is nice. Just order ahead if you are in a hurry and spanikopita goes fast so have a backup order in mind. Looking forward to trying the new sandwiches. Personal favorites: oat cap, oat chai, spanikopita, sausage egg muffin. If you combine this coffee with the bagel place up the street you'll have the best lunch ever.

Cute and cozy spot for all your early day coffee needs; Cafe manager Stephen has got you covered!
Also, don't forget to pick up a freshly toasted Spanakopita to pair with your drink, imported straight from Greece ??

I love supporting local coffee shops and this cafe definitely passed the vibe check! Their iced drinks come in a one size cup and for me it’s a large so for the price, it’s worth it. Staff is great and very friendly.

Great little neighbourhood coffee spot. Drinks are made with care and are absolutely delicious. The Greek pies are fresh and warmed to order, just delectable! Served by meaty-thighed man who will tell you how much he loves to bike across the city.
