Kaito Sushi Omakase offers a beautifully elegant sushi experience at an affordable price. At the time of this review, the cost is $69.95 plus tax per person. The only way to reserve a spot is through their online booking system on their website, which ensures a streamlined process. The staff are exceptionally kind and professional, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
Upon entering, you find yourself in the first half of the restaurant, which serves as a holding or waiting area, complete with a few tables and a bar space. When the sushi bar is ready, the staff will gladly escort you to your seat.
What truly sets Kaito Sushi apart is the precision and intense focus each chef exhibits while crafting every piece of sushi. Watching this master meticulously prepare your meal is a joy in itself—an artful performance that adds a special touch to the dining experience. Each seat is positioned in front of a stunning slab of stone, creating a striking presentation space that is as visually impressive as the sushi itself. (You can see this in my photos; it's quite the sight!)
For a “casual” omakase, Kaito Sushi is an excellent entry point for anyone wanting to explore this culinary experience without breaking the bank. During our visit, the crowd was wonderfully diversely celebrating birthdays, others marking anniversaries, and most heartwarming of all, an older gentleman sharing this beautiful experience/moment with his young granddaughter (please be aware, they only allow children over 5).
I highly recommend Kaito Sushi Omakase, as it suits virtually any occasion, whether casual or special.

Affordable omakase - 12 pcs/course. Fish was all very decent considering the price. We also ordered an additional add on, 18$ for uni and a small bottle of sake to share between two. For salmon it was smoked salmon instead of regular salmon and I wished they didn’t use the same sauce on every piece of nigiri. Overall it was a positive experience with the price in the mind. Walked away full as well.

The quality of the fish was not bad. However. The vinegar in the rice covered everything. All we could taste was sourness. I felt sad for the fish that they couldn't be tasted properly.
Service was so-so. Part of the fun of omakase is the interaction with the chef. But the vibe was weird and quiet.
I'd rather pay more for a better omakase.

Perhaps the greatest sushi experiences that I've ever had. The quality of the sushi is only outdone by the excellence and craft of the chef.
Please note to be respectful, this is not a dining experience to catch up with your friends, rather a moment to appreciate the care that goes into preparing your meal.
Each course delights with wonderful flavour, and the price is very reasonable given the quality of the experience.
Fantastic, intimate experience. My partner and I went on a Thursday night, total seating was 8 people. It was probably the most genuine and delicious sushi experience I’ve had.
The experience was magical ! Lovely place, lovely chef, lovely food. Definitely 5 / 5
First ever Omakase experience. Date night was one for the books. Kaito was interacting with us while he was working which made the night fun. Highly recommend. For the fellas, if your girl has never had omakase before but she loves sushi - bring her here and gain some points.

The quality and flavour of sushi here is fantastic.
Compared to other Omakase restaurants around $100/pp range, Kaito is more delicious. The scallop, smoked salmon and lean tuna with lime zest were standouts on the menu today (some of which were in my mouth before my camera was out)
This is an intimate and friendly experience that has a more casual atmosphere than other comparable Omakase restaurants. The space is larger than necessary and could benefit from some improvements to decor and lighting to create a better ambiance, however this is a small tradeoff for some really delicious sushi!
Note that it's very important to be at your reservation on time. I see some one star reviews from people who are upset that the restaurant couldn't accommodate them after they arrive 20 minutes late. You have to understand that service has a certain flow and the sushi is crafted fresh by the chef to be eaten right away.
Overall, this is a great place that I would happily recommend and intend on returning to!

The atmosphere isn't stuck up like some places. If you love sushi, I highly recommend Kaito. It's miles ahead of 99% of the sushi restaurants in Toronto.
Every piece of sushi I had was fresh and delicious, and the service was attentive. The chef is friendly, inventive and highly skilled.
