It’s such a classy place! I thought it was more like a cafe inside but it was more like a restaurant. They also sell products like sauce, fragrance, and hoodies.
It’s a vegetarian restaurant but they have several gluten-free goods too! Look at these plating!!! The way they served the desserts was gorgeous and caring. I didn’t expect it to be served like this. The carrot cake was so tasty, went so well with bananas and strawberries. The matcha had a touch of sweetness and was perfect.
The lady who served us was charming and appealing. She was so nice to us. I’m coming back for sure to try more food!!

Really cool vibes and the food is amazing!! That hot sauce is so good I bought a bottle to take home and that’s my go to now.

We came here for brunch on a Sunday morning - it was delicious! We’ve been looking for a vegan restaurant in the East end and this cafe checked all the boxes. The staff are very nice and food was healthy & flavourful. Jamaican food at its best.

I went in and ordered two ackee brunch’s priced at $17 (on their website). I also added a patty which isn’t on the menu but I was given the option to add. My total was $54.24 — I did not tip on the machine because I put change in the tip jar.
I’ve called several times since leaving and nobody is answering but she did text me.
My total before the patty $38.42
I asked her how much was the patty? She said the patty was $9.50?!?!?!? In WHAT world are patty’s $9.50? I added the patty because patty’s are usually between 2-4 maybe even 5 for IN HOUSE MADE PATTIES!
The patty was dry, and obviously reheated several times. The outside was dark and breaking apart and the inside was mush.
Although the brunch’s were good, the portion size was so small it was not worth $17.
Not to mention donuts in the display disguised as ‘cakes’ for $12.
As much as the owners were nice, and hospitable while we were in store.. THIS makes the service and experience a 0. They were nice to take advantage of us. In her text she said she’s sorry she forgot to mention?? Forgot to mention or knew if she said the patty was 9.50 I would say no?
Definitely not worth it.

The atmosphere was nice but there weren’t enough seats. The portion sizes of these meals are so small that you can see the bottom of the bowl. The ackee breakfast had 1 small piece of ackee and was all tofu. There were only 10 leaves of cooked spinach, 7 slices of potato and 2 bites of salad. The food was good but I didn’t pay $55 for two meals that were this portion. There was a 3rd meal that was rice, lentils and chic peas with a roti and it was 3X the size. The food is delicious but knowing the portion sizes we wouldn’t go back.

I had breakfast 2 days in a row. It’s a beautiful, bright and calming vibe. It’s very clean and artsy. The food was tasty and beautifully plated. They have a vegan breakfast menu, dinners and vegan baked goods. The staff are exceptionally friendly. I will definitely return with more friends.
Cafe Allwood and Market is centered on healthy food, friendly community and good vibes! We started as contacts and are now friends because of who they are and what they offer. We return again and again!

Came here with my family on a whim and felt like we hit the jackpot. The vibes inside are immaculate as part cafe part art studio. Staff are super friendly and did a lot of small things to make us feel welcome. Food is great as well, with a Caribbean twist on brunch.
We had our 18mo daughter with us and they did have a high chair available. They also gave her a sliced banana to keep her occupied while we had salad. They have a babyccinno which is steamed milk with some chocolate and sugar - I’m sure my daughter would have loved it if she hadn’t unexpectedly choked on the first sip.
We got the avocado toast and Ackee curry bowl. Both were excellent. The scotch bonnet hot sauce was particularly tasty and went well with both dishes.
Seemed to be a spot with a lot of regulars and I’ll definitely return if I’m in the area.

Wow, what a gorgeous place with even more gorgeous food and kind, generous people. I had the chickpea sweet potato curry roti and it was absolutely delicious. Some of the best I’ve ever had! The chef was very friendly and brought out some other dishes for us to try. We took a couple cappuccinos to go, coffee was great. Will definitely be back!
