Wonderful lunch experience with @Katsuya.ca definitely must try! Great food awesome staff. Thanks for a great experience
Looking for a great lunch? Katsuya is a great place for lunch or dinner!
Special set was really great.
Sadly, I will not being ordering from Katsuya again. After a trying week I decided to order the Cheese Katsu via DoorDash. I was almost done when I bit into something crunchy...I spat it out. It was a fingernail! I have been feeling sick to my stomach since. The is food is great (I won't take that from them. I gave the food 5 stars) but please be more diligent in the kitchen. Food staff's nails should be cut short to avoid instances like this.

==2024.11.07 Update==
I’ve been eating here regularly for two years. Recently, I think they’ve improved the texture of the meat, which used to be over-pounded! It feels much better now.
If I had to suggest areas for improvement, it would be the Japanese sauce and dressing.
I’ve been choosing the Japanese sauce for a while, but it’s just too sour, and I’ve grown tired of it. Traditional Japanese tonkatsu sauce has a mild acidity and a deep richness.
The dressing for cabbage is also sour, and personally, I’d love it if it were a soy-based onion dressing instead.
Please go easy on the sourness!
Instead, I ended up trying the original sauce and curry, and honestly, I preferred those! These days, I mostly order katsu curry for delivery. Although it's a bit small to call it a full katsu curry—it's more of a curry sauce with katsu—the curry is the best option for now.

I had avoided it because it had the same name as a super cheap katsudon chain store in Japan, but it turned out to be a good store that had nothing to do with that! I think the meat may have been beaten a little too much, but I think it's good for people who value tenderness (I prefer the meat to have more of a chewy texture).
