Wow, I just had the most amazing dining experience! The atmosphere was simply perfect, making me feel so relaxed and happy. The music was fantastic, creating a wonderful vibe throughout the entire meal. And let me tell you, the food was out of this world – absolutely delicious! I think the staff is not supposed to ask to take guests plate away when they finish eating, I don’t know if they have been trained this way but that is not welcoming.

The food was excellent; the restaurant is pleasant and clean. The prices are very good considering what comes with each dish. We were a group of five, and we felt that as soon as we finished eating, the staff started pressuring us to leave. They didn't wait to see if we wanted to order anything else; they just cleaned up and brought us the bill. It's not just about eating; it's also about enjoying the company and the place.

This is usually a place I go with friends, good spot when craving katsu. I recently went with a friend to their downtown location by church street to order their box set to share. They said there was a mandatory one order per person and we couldn’t share a set. I’ve been feeling sick and can’t really finish a whole meal on my own plus we don’t eat that much… they did not want to budge on the rule so we decided to leave… quite strange because we used to share our dish all the time, and it’s genuinely because one entire plate is too much food. I’m sure the workers there can also agree having a box set of 3-4 courses for one person is way too much on your own. Disappointing service, with no solution, just lost a few loyal customers, unfortunately.

This is my first time eating here, and the food was bad! I had udon, and my friend had tonkatsu. The tonkotsu sauce tasted like cheese with ketchup not so great, and my udon tasted like poor store-bought soup packed 🥲I can't even finish it. And the price was 17 and 20, and for that, it was not worth it!!🙏
Edit❗️: it also not authentic Japanese food, I've to many Japanese restaurant and it did not taste weird like that! .The service was not really great, they saw us from the kitchen but did not even came to get the bill or ask anything but deadly stare😓

Small cozy spot. The meat was soooo good. I highly recommend this place for Original, Japanese, or curry katsu. So delicious.
Had the sweet garlic fish katsu. Taste was alright, the garlic flakes were strong but made the overall dish tasty balancing out the sweetness. The tempura udon was creamy and nice

Katsuya is such a great restaurant to go to if you're craving Japanese Katsu. They have so many variety of cuts and sauces you can choose from. I love going there because the portions are actually decent sized and their fried chicken with sweet sauce is TO DIE FOR. I don't know what they do to that chicken but it is so crispy and delicious! The one complaint I have is their metal cups and the water they put in them, it always tastes awful and tastes metallic. That would be the only thing I'd change lol.

The Service was awful! We were 3 people and the manager was so rude and said we should order a main dish for everyone or we should go! Not even an appetizer, unreasonable policy about ordering food at this place. We definitely won’t back

We had already planned to order drinks, sides, and share a couple of main courses, but they refused to accommodate us. It felt inflexible and unwelcoming. During our visit, we were informed that every person at the table was required to place an individual order. While we understand that restaurants may have specific policies, the way this was communicated to us was unexpectedly rigid and unaccommodating. Unfortunately, the staff were not particularly courteous in explaining the reasoning behind this policy, nor did they offer any alternative solutions that could have improved our experience.
As guests, we expected a more welcoming and flexible approach, especially given the reputation Katsuya holds. Instead, we left feeling uncomfortable and disappointed by the lack of hospitality shown.
I hope you will take this feedback into account to ensure a more guest-friendly and respectful experience in the future.
